Eastern Tn logging on the DG CC & W RR 1928

You mentioned loading logs off of barges, loading them into the river off cars seems more likely to have happened to my thinking but ya'll might'a done things differently in TN. The only thing that makes switch ballasting easier is having a clear head and calm heart to do it, in my...

Any cell (prisoner) cars in H0?

They're just perforated sets of holes, google "gunderson articulated autorack" for better pics.

It also depends on if reinforcement and what type is used, if any. 'round here the problem was not having fibre reinforcement in addition to rebar. 'nuff bout roads lets get back to rails

Any cell (prisoner) cars in H0?

Oh man, not the Gunderson articulated autoracks again  Nutjobs think that the govt hauls people off to FEMA death camps in "white boxcars". wall1 Your first pic, though, is probably of pre-formed modular concrete prison cells, with self-contained plumbing/electrical/security systems being...

There's only three guarantees with concrete; 1: It'll get HARD 2: It'll turn Grey 3: It'll crack. They started using concrete with expansion slots to pave a 4 lane road about 40 miles from me and it broke into little bits 2 years after the fact when ice forced the joints apart. Pothole city...

    request of you logging fellas

lol, you posted it in The Gauge Rwy. subforum. It's entirely possible that there were no instructions, if they're just assorted generic looking sawmill parts and were meant to go into some other construct. I may be wrong though, a picture might say a thousand words in this case. I'd fiddle...

    The Haitian Sugar Train

I just got a porter and three V dumpers a few weeks ago, a climax might be in the works too as i've heard they've got a tighter radius than the Shay with the driveshaft being centered on the chassis and all. Pic on my HO logging line, which might be partially dismantled in preparation for a...

    Looging Pond

Again, very nice. The little tug reminds me of the truck dump my dad and i hauled to as a kid. You'd never think that little thing could move a whole load of logs heh.

    Fill in the blanks, Please

Those prefixes refer to scale THEN track gauge. HO at 1/87th uses 1/87 structures, details, vehicles, accessories etc. and if there is no "n3" or "n30" it also refers to standard gauge track. n3 and n30 use the same structures, vehicles, details etc but the distance between the rails is thinner...

Any cell (prisoner) cars in H0?

I cant think of a prison in the US that has a rail connection for any reason, in fact being near a railroad is considered a security risk for most prisons, iirc.

    Amish Barn Raising

I tried the sawdust and dye method on one of my old Lionel layouts, the stuff got everywhere and i am still pulling pieces of it out of some of my old Lionel rolling stock. Then again i was 8 years old or so and :122::icon_twisted:

    The Haitian Sugar Train

I think i'd die of heat stroke in a full suit, tie, and hat sitting up on a bridge exposed like that :weird: lol Very cool scene

    Rivarossi Loco's

Wow, that's a heckuva deal. And it's great to see locos with someone's history getting a good home. The only Rivarossi i've dealt with is their 2 truck Heisler, my first geared steam, and it's a darn good runner.

Foam core is readily available at the Club thankfully! Upstairs the place is a picture framing shop and they use foam core for the borders around pictures. Huge 4x8 sheets heh. Thanks again
