    Walthers Terex Dump Truck

Jim, I change the nose to be more like prototypical but not completely. I wanted the truck to be more then the kit like you said when someone sees it they'll know it's different. I just got done adding the mirrors and that was not fun but looks great. I'll post more later. Dave

    Walthers Terex Dump Truck

I've been working on the model from Walthers of the Terex (so they say) dump truck. I've got some photos to work from and trying to get the "toy model" to look more like the prototype. I'm not going for exact prototype as this will only be a part of the scenery in the free-mo module I'm...

I just purchased the model mentioned here and I wanted to know what would this be hauling? Would it be a fishing boat for sardines? Also, any ideas on what to model it as, and were can I get detail photos of this ship? Dave Walthers Listing: 63' Sardine Carrier (8 1/2" Long x 2" Wide)...

    Layout Ideas

I was thinking they would have some iteas for benchwork like the support for the foam top and legs for you to get an idea for height. Unless you plan to attach to a free-mo layout there isn't a reason to follow the standard completely. Dave

    Plotter cutters useful for MRR?

I would be interested in knowing if anyone has experiance in these and what they used them for such as styrene cutting or bass wood. Can you program it to cut any shape you want or just basic shapes. I figure since you can cut letters that it will cut more then basic shapes. Dave

    Layout Ideas

Did you look at the standards for Free-mo and how they build hte modules before you start. They have set size for legs and all that could help you with your layout even if you don't plan on doing and free-mo connections. http://wwwfree-mo.org Dave

Rock Quarry & Cement PLant Free-Mo Layout

I'm currently designing a free-mo module that will be a quarry and cement plant. The layout is still in the design phase and I originally got the idea of from a Walthers Bulk Transfer Conveyor w/Pit kit http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3519 I got some time ago. So as I started...

    Google SketchUp 7

I wanted to let everyone know about a free software from Google that you can draw 3D cad drawings and from that you can make plans to model from. The coolest thing about Sketch Up is you can import a photo and sketch right over it and then apply the textures of the photo to the drawing. Check...

    Is it possible...

Wayne, Great job on a car that anyone would be happy to have on their layout. I really like the details the car now. With the ones it had (rivets on the underside) and the ones you added it is a car as well as you would get today. Did you build the roofwalk or did you get that from another car...

    Scratch build

This is a great start on scratch building. I agree with the comments on the windows and door need painted and some kind of glaze for the glass. If you wanted them frosted you can spray the plastic with dulecoat and they will look good and you don't need to model the inside of the building. A...
