    Newly acquired RS13.

Are you SURE it's an RSC13? All the pictures i've ever seen of RSC13's (they were popular in this area) look nothing like the model that Chris has...i can post a half-dozen pics if you guys want them AR

No worries....i'm gonna keep digging tonight and see if i can come up with anything. As an aside, i know the person that took the picture of the CN unit you showed a post or two ago...Bill Linley. AR

    Model Power FP-7s?

THis the modelers version, or the train-set version? Last i heard, the only version available to the public right now is the (rather crappy) trainset version. The modelers version has been pushed back and pushed back, much the same as their Mogul & American releases. AR

    Remembrance Day Train

Filled to capacity! They actually had to turn several hundred veterans away, which kinda annoyed me...it's a veterans train, forget the public, cram the train full of Vets! The golden age of rail travel is over, sadly...however, passenger rail still exists, and i see it making a comeback. As...

    Siderod's Trains - November 16th Update!

Hey Guys! That time has come once again, for me to update my website yet again. Alot has happened in the 2-weeks since my last update. Briefly, in the most recent update, over 100 pictures were added to several pages (102, actually, but who's counting?). Also, there is a whole lot of new...

    High-speed Montreal to New York

If VIA could afford to invest in the JetTrain, a demo from BBD, i think they could take traffic from the airlines...i may be biased, but if i could sit in a comfortable JetTrain seat for 5 hours, or a cramped aircraft for an hour, i'd take the train! The JetTrain has been tested, and on...

surprise noise problem - need help

Common problem with the C55 snap-track.....go with the flex-track everywhere, if your dead set on Atlas C55. OR, if your open to change, go with Peco C55, which is really C80 burried into the ties a bit, so it looks like C55, but operates as C80, just in case you ever get some locomotives that...

    Remembrance Day Train

I'm driving to Moncton on Sunday Morning to see the train (4 hour drive), and i'm planning on chasing it all the way home. I'll try to post pics here, and should have pics and a play-by-play on my website shortly there after. AR

Converting EMD GP7 to EMD NF210

Uh, no there wern't.....a 6-axle GP7 is an Oxymoron. You are refering to an SD7...GP7's (and any other Geeps) all had B-B truck configurations, where as SD7's (and any other SD units) all had either A1A-A1A or C-C truck configuration. Good luck with the kitbash...the cab would most likly have...

    What N-scale 2-8-4 Berkshire's are available?

SKip is right....the VanSweringen Berk made by LL is the best bet, though the did have a small gauge issue with the front pilot and some weight issues. Not sure how the pick-up is, but i think the tender is live (the Mallet was) so hard-wiring or modification might help that. AR

    DCC decision time

I'd like to point out the fact that the Zephyr can not handle 25 locomotive addresses, it's max is 10 addresses and 2.5 Amps. If $250 is your max, then i would go with the Zephyr...but if you can scrape together the cash, i would advise you to go with the Super Cheif....much more expensive, but...

    High-speed Montreal to New York

While it COULD happen, in theory, i don't see why they'd bother... High speed usually needs dedicated ROW and equipment, so big money is involved. I don't see it happening, because the governments involved wouldn't make back what they invested for a long time, and there are places where...

    Loading up the car float

David, Thats a good idea, and could add a lot to an operating session....roll the carfloat, and have to call in a couple big-hooks and some emergency crews! Ralph, Lookin good! Did you scratchbuild the float? styrene or wood? How large is the float, anyway? It looks like it could run a long...

    N Precision Craft Model Sound?

This is an F7... Photo © www.drgw.org This is an E7... Drawing © Roland Ruesch The F7 was a smaller version of an E7, or vice versa, how ever you wish to look at it. E-units were C-C or A1A-A1A trucked, where as F-units were B-B trucked. The E's had two prime movers in them, the...
