Here is the finished doorway section.

Using the decals as a guide, here I am gluing strips of styrene to create the classic doorway.

The model came with a basic pod bay floor and ceiling, but the wall details are just a decal on flat styrene sheet. I decided to scratch build a more detailed one.

Hollow brass tube for the spine. I used slightly thinner sections of tubes to connect the two spine sections together.

I built the spine sections on hollow brass tubing that allows thin wires to pass from the battery in the rear reactor unit to the front command module for self contained lighting.

Picture with the two parts together, concealing the battery inside.

I glued some brass tubing sections into the front part of the RU and corresponding holes in the main unit for them to fit together.

Hollowed RU to allow a 9 volt battery to be concealed.
