This is way beyond awesome. You are the dad of the year, dad of the century. I can think of a few things that would make it even better like red lights in the gun barrels and sound effects but all in all this is down right bad ass. That is one lucky kid to have a cool dad like you.

Thank you mastrcontrol. This is the 144 scale so the arrays are not all that big and heavy but with my 1:100 yes that is a problem. I was sitting at my desk one day and the next thing I know I am getting whacked in the head by one of the arrays that broke off. I re-glued it and then ran line...

I can picture that Zathros, it would be an awesome build.

I have thought about doing this before with the B-17 and the B-24. I got to looking at them and noticed the nose section was short so was going to build it with part of the wings showing too. I think they would make great plaques.

I have used krylon products for years on my plastic models, also use it on my wood cuttings and also on my paper models and have had no experiences of any yellowing. Here is a link to the product. I think you will be very pleased with it. http://www.krylon.com/products/acrylic_crystal_clear/...

If you want to preserve it you can spray it with a clear coat, I use krylon clear coat. I have thought about painting my ceiling but I rent this house and don't want to put all that work into painting it the have to repaint it back white if I ever move.
