    Varney Casey Jones Information

I was a kid modelling in HO when the Casey Jones came out. I wanted one in the worst way, but it didn't happen. I had to settle for a little four wheel diesel "critter" instead. :( Funny, I can't for the life of me remember who made the critter, but the ten wheeler I couldn't...

    Pine Trees

Common pines in the South are shortleaf, longleaf, loblolly or slash, all of which are marketed as yellow pine. There is also virgina pine and white pine. Southern pines don't look like christmas trees because most christmas trees don't look like christmas trees until the tree farmer makes them...

    Varney Casey Jones Information

You have a 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler. There is no other name for that wheel arrangement that I know of, at least in North American railroading.

I don't know if this will give you fine enough resolution, but it is inexpensive. http://www.amazon.com/Sun-Lev-O-Gauge/dp/B0000AY6VK You can convert degrees to percent of grade mathematically.

    Is it just my browser?

I was going to agree with CRed, but now I'm not so sure. I got the same results as you with IE, Iceweasel (Firefox under Linux), Firefox and Opera, but with Konqueror I have to hover the links with both settings (Konqueror's rendering engine is also used by the Mac Safari browser). Weird.

    Vision crutches

My only pair of bifocals lasted exactly one week, then I sat on them. That was 20 years ago. I hated them so much that I never got another pair. I now go around with three pair of glasses: distance, computer, and reading. The distance and computer are prescription, while I buy the readers...

Spitfire, that is a really nice, professional looking drawing, as good as those in the magazines. What did you use to draw it?

    It's called "Google", people!

Sometimes people have already Googled without success, but fail to mention that fact when they post their question. On some lists, failing to demonstrate that you have searched all public and list archives prior to posting will get the poster boiled in virtual oil. :) It's always nice when...

Maybe someone bought it, or it was donated to a museum, and it was being transported to the new owners.

    Is thias acceptable?

I have had one problem with one seller. Funny thing is, he has a 100% rating with a large number of sales behind it. Actually, not so funny. He was/is selling a device that is not new, as he claims, but rather has had its software hacked illegally to make it work in a way it was never intended...
