TRANSPORT CENTRAL scratch build (using styrene plastic)

When things went TapaTalk I could not log-in for a number of weeks. They must have fixed the software for now, 07-29-19, I can log in again. Will check other threads as I notice none of the photos are there at the moment.. Software people are always "re-inventing the wheel". Hope things...

TRANSPORT CENTRAL scratch build (using styrene plastic)

If you are wondering about how I managed to stretch this project out over so many years, painting the table food is a prime example. This should have been done in January or by February 2019. But, as usual, one thing and another interfered and I still haven't painted the food nor started work...

    TRNAVA OPEN 2019 (Slovakia)

Great to see what others have thought of and achieved. My best efforts have been shipping containers though I am doing some background buildings for my city diorama. Excellent paper modelers for sure. Have fun modeling, Swamp Daddy

Bus Lovers Unite (those infected with the fetish join in too)

I have lots of links to paper bus threads and here is a biggie on the Canadian Public Transit Discussion Board (long name, good site): https://cptdb.ca/topic/12-paperbus-thread/ There are downloadable paper buses scattered among the 300 pages of this thread plus comments and requests for them...

Here is a photo of the real Dayton 110 trolleybus which I hope to make my model resemble it as close as possible. There are some fold down steps by the rear door to get to the roof. They would be half the size of those very small retrievers in HO scale and I doubt anyone makes them; but, I'll...

The real world is always sort of a damper on hobbies; but, it keeps us focused on the other important things in life. And, Zathros, you are right about cars. I have a pair of 60's Mustangs slowly rusting away because of being a bit short of funds and also laziness has set in. Lots of labor...

Zathros: Actually I accidentally embedded it when I put the actual link in and posted. But, not being sure about bandwidth use and rules about it, I took the direct link out and put in the tiny URL. So much out there to enjoy. The cost of model trains has gotten almost out of sight recently...

For a nice youTube video of vehicles on the Faller Car System check this one out: https://tinyurl.com/y5937mcn It's using the latest version with infrared digital control (and I ain't even got my analog version working). the speed of progress. Nice articulated bus in this video. Use the FCS...

The best ZIL car is the 111G model copying the general look of a 1956 Packard. The ZIL luxury cars generally copied american prototypes until the late 80's now looking like some European luxury cars. A ZIL (Packard clone) is available in HO scale but too rich for my limited retirement budget...

Getting back to traction in this thread (as those bus nuts have their own thread now:eek:), a few comments on the Eheim/Brawa powered trolleybuses is in order. These were first made in the early 60's by Eheim and had very large and bulky overhead that was stiff, rectangular, and hard to bend to...

Yep, those 1-1/2 deck buses would make an awesome motor home with an "upstairs" master bedroom. ;). Here are some of the better and more expensive models I bought a few decades back when I was still working and pulling down the big bucks; I'll never confess what I paid for these...

For those of you in HO scale with any sort of city, you need some buses to serve citizens along with the trains. In recent years the number of good bus models in this scale has exploded. I'll show some from my collection to start things off. Here are a pair of 1-1/2 deck units, a Mercedes...

By the way, I meant to mention this before, the retrievers and other parts are from Brian Wiesman's site at; https://www.ebay.com/str/brianweismanjbw?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 Where you can find traction parts and streetcar kits in nearly every scale, check him out if you need traction parts...

My fingers are too fat and stubby to do anything smaller than a bus in HO-scale paper. I have a few which might be good enough to put in a garage for a long distance shot they wouldn't be too bad. I do much better with paper buildings though. I do have a quite large fleet of 'over the...

Oldies but Goodies. The Old Stuff.

Somewhere around 1957 as a teenager I decided to tackle my first 'craftsman type kit' in HO. I was an Ulrich kit of a CNW cattle car that stared back at me from the dealer's shelf as it had been reduced in price. The roof and underfloor are wood, end panels were some early plastic, slats on...

These days my pace is "dead slow" or some pix would have already been up. First two pix show the two Busch models that are actually trolleybuses. the yellow one is Dayton 110 (one of two ex-Edmonton trolleybuses they bought as a trial), the other is numbered 109 (but no model of it) The one...

Hi everyone: Scored big this week on eBay; won two of the older Eheim 2-axle trolleybuses at a reasonable price. They look rough but I intend to experiment with them toward installing the FCS buried wire steering. And the reason I wanted those HO)-scale retrievers is that I have two Busch GMC...

Well, this was a long time coming (11 years) since my post in 2007 wanting some. LaBelle #10-003 is a package of 4 HO scale retrievers. I found some on eBay and quickly ordered them. Got an AHM minibus set on eBay recently as the latest addition to my large fleet. I'll post some photos soon...
