    CN on strike

I believe it's midnight tonight. I'm not generally a union supporter, but from what I've read about the issues, all I can say to the UTU is, "Don't give in, stick it to 'em!"

Woodstock Thames Valley and Ingersoll Electric Railway

Here's a brief history and a picture of the track in Woodstock and the car Estelle that travelled the line. Next week I'll bring a picture of my house from the 20's that shows the track in front of it. A shop in town has a picture through the village of Beachville, but I'm not sure yet if it's...

    Hobby Shops in Kitchener-Waterloo?

I thought there was one in the Conestoga mall? I've never been to any in the k-w area. I think there might be one in north Cambridge too, or maybe it's 2beintrains in Fergus I'm thinking of....

    George's Trains Expands!

I'll take George's prices over some others any day. One thing I like about Georges is they attend some of the less than local shows (Woodstock, Paris etc). Gives me a chance to shop there without actually going to TO.

    getting ready

Awesome stuff. Who makes it? Is the TH&B one the same style as CPR plows? CP keeps one in the Woodstock yard for clearing some of the branchlines around here.

Get a free sample of Task Board

How'd you get the textures and stuff on it? I was expecting a little more than recycled cardboard.... And mine took over a month to get to me.

2006 CPR Christmas Train, times .

Well guess what, I missed it because I got out of class WAY too early and went home instead. 2 good things though, I saw it from across a field on the drive home, beautiful train, BTW, and I got an A+ in the class. :)

    Hamilton Layout Tour

The HOMES layout looks really good! Almost as good as Doctorwayne's :) I wish they would have scheduled this on a different day than the Toronto Christmas show, then I may have considered going.

2006 Toronto Christmas Train Show -- thoughts?

My daughters loved all the displays, especially the one in the trailer. I thought the vendors were a little thin, I was hoping to find some bargains and almost took all my $$ back home with me, until I found some auto racks on my second walk-thru. How come George's was absent? David, did you...

    Kitchener Train show pics

No I wasn't, I just liked to stop at the Baden club as one of the last stops on the Doubleheaders tour each spring. One of my favorites for year to year improvements. The cathedral he built on that layout was excellent!

    Kitchener Train show pics

Hmm, cousin Greg looks familiar. Did he used to be part of the Baden model railway club?

    St. Thomas Trains Question

The museum had problems with the roof last year - a couple panels fell down, and the building was declared temporarily unsafe, which I think limited work on the 0-6-0. You can catch more info on the Canada Southern Yahoo group.

    2006 Christmas Train Show

I'll be taking my 2 older girls on Saturday afternoon. The TO show is a great mix of operating layouts (for the kids) and bargain tables (for me). :) And here's the $2 off coupon and admission prices: http://www.antiquetoys.ca/coupon_train_show_nov17_06.pdf Hope to see some of you there! :)

    The Aluminum Benchwork Project

Hmm, can't remember the company name for Italian source for this stuff....black & yellow catalogue? Parker makes similar stuff in 40 x 40 mm, and Bosch has 30 x 30 and 45 x 45 profiles. Awesome stuff to use, quick to build things, but not cheap. My advice for cutting it (from experience): use...
