I got CP rolling past my back yard but I havent' been able to get pictures yet. The kids love watching the trains roll by though.

A few years ago the ON SD75s ran on some CN trains, but I think they stayed in Ontario.

Sketchup is free, there's also shareware like Cadkey, is it still around? When I finally get around to designing my layout I'll probably use SolidWorks since that's what I use at work and am most familiar with. It's been over 2 years since I last used AutoCad for anything.

At what, $4000 commission? Getting off-topic here, but AutoCad is much cheaper than that. You can get high end 3D cheaper than 5k. :) You can always get a 1 or 2 year old copy of AutoCad lite for a couple hundred.

The TH&B met the CASO (Conrail) in Welland, did it not? And Welland is a bit flattish. That's a possible location. Too many tracks for Waterford, another TH&B/CASO connection.

I'm planning on modelling the line behind my back yard and next to my parents farm. I'd model the area I grew up in, but it would be kind of boring - no tracks or trains for miles. :)

David, 2 of 3 kids and my wife were sleeping when we went through Perth. There's no sign for the cheese monument either when travelling on Highway 7. So sorry, no pictures. I really did enjoy the drive though, took 7 from Ottawa to the 115 by Peterborough.

Change in plans for me too. Since my wife had a miscarriage last weekend we won't be stopping in Smiths Falls any more, probably just head straight home on Sunday afternoon, depending on what time we want to hit Toronto traffic...
