Drew,the kit was NWSL #186-6

Mine run better than ever after re-gearing them and replacing truck pickups.Mine weren't kits when i bought them and had very little run time on them.I'am guessing the original gears didn't take too much to fatique them.I spent a few dollars to bring them back to life and it is worth it.

What really TICKS me off is roundhouse knew they had a problem with the Shay's and didn't do anything about it,and now it's too late.Thanks to NWSL having the parts.

Gill,i just recieved the re-gear kit from NWSL and installed on both engines.Runs better than they did when new.It took no more than 20 minutes for installing gears in both engines.Used the vise and a short piece of tubing to press them on.

I didn't know if Faller made a Trolley or not,just thought i would throw that out there.There is sooooo much talent in this Forum,that someone might come up with a way to Kit bash a Faller bus or something.

Faller has a Trackless system but i don't know if they have Trolleys.They do have Buses.

Nick i did find a site that does have a Crossbuck crossing unit that you might want to look at but can't the site that had the circuits you can build yourself.This may help ( Dallee Electronics).Check it out.

I just ran across a circuit for the Grade crossing,I'll have to do some backtracking .I will try to find the site again and send it to you.

I know what you mean.I paid A good amount for mine and expected them to hold up better than they did.It's worth a few bucks to see if it will fix the problem.

Jason,need not worry.That pin is left out and can be used for optional lighting,or something else.

LOL,I called Athearns yesterday and talked to one of the Techs.He just advised me to get a re-gear kit and try it myself.He told me they have no parts for the Shays and any that they try to fix will probaly be fitted with the re-gear kit that i ordered.My Shays run real good except for the...

Thanks all for the reply's,i just ordered a re-gear kit for both engines from Walthers (NWSL 53-1866).Went on NWSL's site and it wasn't clear as to what is included in the kit.I'am hoping that it is including the replacement gears.Walthers indicated that they had the kits in stock,so time will...
