Soundtrax has a PTB-100 booster that i use to program those stubborn decoders and it works GREAT.

Joe you can put N Decoders in most HO Locos,the only Engines i would be carefull with are the Older Athearns.Of course you need to check the Stall current on all your Locos before installing any decoder.I've used "Z" decoders in a few HO Locos. Harold

Thats exactly where i got confused when someone says one leg of the "Y".I took it as one leg meaning one rail,and i'am not the only one that thought that.

You would only need 1 DB150

Using the DB150 and isolating both legs at Point "A" you shouldn't have any Problems.

Les, i see you are climbing up in the world of sound Decoders as far as sound and running,I've installed several in steam and think they are top notch.The deisels are probally not as good sounding as the steam but better than most on the market right now and as far as running they are great.

It is wired up between your Program track and your power,it works great

I've had the same problems on only a select few decoders,mostly the ones in Atlas.I found a solution (Ferrite Bead Inductors),for some reason these decoders signals get screwed up by inductance.Using the Ferrite bead inductors on the feed wires close from the source output corrected this problem...

!000 ohm resistors work perfect,but 560's should work also.Make sure the return is on the neg side of the diode

If the Decoder is plugged in you can always use a jumper plug and take the decoder out and save it till you go with DCC

Kevin,Start with cv02 and make it 00 CV02 accleration start with 00,CV03 decelaration start with 00,get one engine the way you want it and go to the next one.Write all the cv values down and keep them some where for future referance.Also need to know what DCC unit you are using. Harold Cole

If you are using DCC 60103 is correct

You might try starting with 0,then go up.Just a suggestion
