What do you like best to do in railroading. i know we love it all. But is there a particular interest that u like to do or a couple of them?

i use to freehand. Was a legal survey draftsperson for many years. Drew survey and pipleline plans. If i still had all my equipment i might draft but atlas is easy for me. Because of my background, i like to do track plans more than scenicing them

The software used is Atlas RightTrack 5.0. Its compressed to fit on this site thats why the foot lines are not square. But you can make your plans for different sizes of scale from 1:1 to 1:100 (which is pretty small) i like the ratio 1:31 which fits in an 8.5 x 11.5 format for this HO scale...

1. U can use one light source with many strands grouped together than spreading out to where u want them. Or u can use multiple light sources around the layout. i know a 25 watt bulb makes a good light source. U can use 12 volt bulbs to, for example, adding ditch lights in older athern engines...

Don't quote me, but those extra rails on certain crossings were a safety feature to keep the ties in place. On my layout they are for cosmetic purpose ownly.
