it depends. i stay away from the track area until i ballast it. i do other scenery areas anytime or within 3" of the track. If u want the grass to show through the ballast, u would still ballast track first.

Hi Big D. Your layout almost looks like a layout that i built 12 years ago :) On the 4x8' board i had a town, a turntable, a mountain, a river, coal mine, train station and a siding for the town. i will find a picture and post it. Can't wait to see your revisions :D :D

Hi Ben. i like the Olympus. a few years back i bought an olympus D220L. it still takes the same pictures today that it did than. Nice thing is i can interchange my sm card with the new olympus camera that i just purchased, C4000. i did some investigating and found there are 3 ultra zoom cameras...

That looks great. i like it. Doing mockups is a great suggestion. U can use cereal boxes, shampoo bottles anything that will portray the kit. u can cut out strips of cardboard and laydown on the layout to show the roads. u can even paint the mockups to give a better visualization. :D

The era was was early 1900's. And the neat thing is how many manufacturers modeled that engine :D
