T-51b Power Armor build (Fallout) [FINISHED]

Hello! I'm baaack :) Had been busy with other stuff for a while again but it was time to continue the build: I have (finally!) finished the Gatling Laser with the yellow wires, some rivets, and the fusion core receiver assembled. Also put together one of the hands. Looks really good IMHO...

T-51b Power Armor build (Fallout) [FINISHED]

Installed the guts of the Gatling laser inside it's cage. some small stuff still remains, but I'm getting there. Also did some dry brushing with silver paint. It looks good on the GLaser but I think I won't be doing it on the armor itself after all. (Sorry. I forgot to take pics during the...

T-51b Power Armor build (Fallout) [FINISHED]

Another update on the Gatling laser, finally its starting to look like the "real" thing. The piping will be the main weight-bearer for the weapon once the model will grip it, so I made sure it will stay in shape by using a wire base for it. The wires were just placed in their places...

T-51b Power Armor build (Fallout) [FINISHED]

Thx! I actually do all of that when making a template: - First I load up the model in a 3D editor and simplify as much as I can. If needed I also pose the model during this. - I usually move the separate parts like pauldrons, pipes hands, armor plates, whatnot to the sides so I can get at the...

T-51b Power Armor build (Fallout) [FINISHED]

Worked on the Gatling laser's many-many tiny parts. Next time I'll do the piping, then some dry brushed silver paint for "weathering", then assembly and wiring. YAY After that only the hands will remain.

T-51b Power Armor build (Fallout) [FINISHED]

I got really busy lately with work and some other stuff, but this weekend I finally could continue with my build. I worked on the Gatling laser main body and the handle. It has a lot of tiny boxes and it's a bit annoying to build with the many screws and bolts, so progress is slow.

T-51b Power Armor build (Fallout) [FINISHED]

Started on the Gatling laser in earnest now. The barrels were done some time ago when I had to take a break from building the torso ... you know... to prevent me from "accidentally" setting the thing on fire :P That motor/transformer thingy took a LOT of time, lots of heatsinks and other gizmos...

T-51b Power Armor build (Fallout) [FINISHED]

Yeah the re-breather hoses and pipes were an absolute nightmare. The big hoses looked really bad no matter how I tried them, so I ended up getting out some paint and and painted it over thickly :P I'm not very good at painting stuff and this is not my greatest work but a definite improvement...

T-51b Power Armor build (Fallout) [FINISHED]

Finally the mirror sticker I ordered for the helmet a while back arrived, so I started rebuilding the helmet. It came out really well on the 2nd go. So right now I'm absolutely happy with it. doing the hoses for the rebreather will not be fun thou :s

T-51b Power Armor build (Fallout) [FINISHED]

Today I've done the most complicated thing I have ever built without (much) flaps ... I think: The lock wheel on the center of the back. Took some time but I think it came out fairly well. (The pauldrons are still not glued on. but the frames are holding them in approx. their final...

T-51b Power Armor build (Fallout) [FINISHED]

OK so I've been building lots of small stuff today: The feet are finally done, with 3 out of 4 of the big plates held in place by magnets. Some other smaller plates gone to the ankle and the elbow. Also built the frame part of the pauldrons, and some detail work on the back.

T-51b Power Armor build (Fallout) [FINISHED]

A new weekend a new update: I was not really satisfied with the sides of the upper chest plate so redone that part. Now its much better. Done the waist and hips, some piping on the torso, plus started on the armor plates I left out so far. The armor plates on the left foot are being hold in...

T-51b Power Armor build (Fallout) [FINISHED]

Thank you! ..So now that picture uploads work here is the update from last weekend: Usually I would join the torso with the legs and finish up with the arms. The wrists being the place I close up the model. But for this template I think closing it up at the hips will work better ... so I...

Another update: Finished with most the left leg (the armor plates for the foot assembly and the hip, and the metallic dry brushing remains) My vacation is over for now ... T_T ... so next update will be in a week.
