i've done plenty and plenty and got more since i last posted pictures, added a platform between my lionel and marx platforms to make one super platform and added afew tracks and handmade a tressel strong enough to take on a long heavy lionel train :D i havn't got any overall pictures of...

ah, i was going to ask how far away you were from each tv, if you house was huge enough, it might be possible for that 10 second delay from waiting for light to travel from one side of your house to another!

:D thats the single biggest obstacle to overcome :D also i'll would have to figure out what to do with the light in the commodore, because it's under the smoker stack, it lights up the smoke stack red and the front light... but i'm not sure if i have the will to do it to that engine...

how old is the set? when i first read the post i kinda assumed it was new and threw out the idea of dirty track and didnt reply .... i often get spots in my track in which the trains slow down.... best way to cure that is just to clean the track off really good, it may not look that dirty, but...

be VERY careful with the wheels, i actually recently discovered it, in order to pop them off you need to get a decent sized flat head screw driver, put the tip all the way under next to the axle, and slowly turn the screwdriver and it will pull them apart, you may have to move the screwdriver...

i was looking at prices for the Marx Hudson engines and i noticed the smoker onces are a bit harder to come by and more pricey... the idea of installing a smoker on a non-smoker one to save money might be a neat idea, but then the idea of installing a smoker on something like the commodore...

that would be comedy :D i could just imagine all the people scratching there heads on that one :p ... then again, the last time i went to orlando i froze my butt off!!!!

humm, i actually have the same engine, but never had that problem... my suggestion would be to roll the wheels back and forth some and check the gearing out... then pop the top off and check out the insides... theres a foward reversing unit on it... i'm not an expert at that device, since i have...

that sounds like a dirty track to me! you really should clean your track!!!! alot of the time if the track is dirty the engine will do that, before you go cleaning your trains, clean off your track!!! get a towel and rub the crap out of it, theres track cleaning solutions and stuff, but...

search around for HO enthusiast sites and find some individuals... maybe look though yahoo groups. i've found quite afew nice yahoo groups that catered to my marx needs before.... your best bet will be e-mailing or posting to some of the people on the groups or to one of the webmasters...

ehh i decided to keep with what i knew and i just put in a regular bulb.... i cut out a tiny wooden fixture to hold the bulb infront of the headlight hole and then wired it.... the LED would have required a bit more work in mounting and i wanted to keep it simple to and non-permanent soo i could...

:D i love those little gates, they allways fall down whenever the platform is bumped :D i'm almost done putting my platform back together, more pics will be coming soon! :thumb:

the lamp is actually wired in as i discribed how i wanted to do the LED light, wire to pickup and grounded to wheels... no fancy stuff :D

hehe, three rails are odd when i think about it, but i never really had desire to go to far into the protype world as you can see :D i'm try and model a pond thats 1/4th of an inch below the platform level in a cutout in the platform... i want to make it realistic like the water i seen...

now that everyone knows my transformer and power info... whats the proper type of regular lightbulb to go into my trains?? i bought a replacement bulb the otther month and it wasn't as bright as the one it replaced soo i figured i bought the wrong voltage

just go to the craft store and you can get a sheet of fake snow fabric and then you can get a bag of snow sprinklies for on buildings/train cars for under the tree it looks pretty good and is fairly cheap and quick!
