Am I the only person to purchase the MRC Prodigy DCC System?

I would love to compare notes with another user of this system. I've been running it for about a year now and have some thoughts.

    Trackside industry

Great question. Sorry no answer. I did do a search on the web, found sites about recycling concrete but no mention of shipping via rail. One company was expected to charge $2 to $4 a ton to take in the material with hopes of re-selling it for $5 to $8 a ton after crushing and sizing...

    angels on track

The system to select sites for crossing upgrades? The public votes each year: number of drivers to hit trains at each "balloting station." (I hate to be too critical of the dead. They don't listen well and they've paid enough for their mistake already.) My main goal: teach my kids to...

Can this prototype yard be modeled?

Good point on the Kadee uncouplers. My son and I switch on our small yard now we have trouble with consistent uncoupling as it is!

    covered hoppers

I finally found that magazine - neat article but not as informative as I remembered. Anyway, Model Railroad Journal, January 2002. Has some great photo's of Duluth's grain facilities. Again, check the insert on the Proto 2000 PS1 Grain Kits.

Can this prototype yard be modeled?

Hey, neat site with the ariel views - but when zooming in that far, the detail is lost. Thanks though. Also, Ray's layout is outrageous. Good for him, hard work does pay off! Anyone else have a great HO yard layout with pictures?

Can this prototype yard be modeled?

AA Krug's website: http://www.vcn.com/~alkrug/home.html Awesome website if you get the chance to visit - has been pointed out several other times on the Guage.

Can this prototype yard be modeled?

Credit for this photo goes to AA Krug - I saw it on his website. I'm planning a yard for my HO layout and want a truly functional yard. I could fit a lot more yard in my space using curve radii like these. Would it be possible? Would operations be reliable?

    The Whole Darn Thing

Only 12 hours to go! Reserve not met yet at $1525! Some one bid, we want to see where the reserve stops.

You are a Model Railroader if:

One point for each yes? If so, I had a high score, is that good?

Real or Not? Take a look.

I won't give up my day job. Also, UP would know better than to let me in the cab - they'd have a hard time getting me out. Dan Raitz, welcome back to MN, why did you go to CA, why are you coming back?

    Hobby Shop or otherwise?

Our state governments are very concerned about the lost sales taxes due to mail order business. Give it time, it will be taxed. I have a local hobby shop. As a higher volume buyer, I get a 15% discount off retail or off his inflated retail - pretty nice gesture, much appreciated. His...

Here's the ex-SP now UP loco I mentioned earlier. I remembered, I took this at a yard in St. Paul Minnesota.

    stupidity claims another victem

A 22 year old man lost his life the other night near Mankato, Minnesota. He was found dead in his vehicle at 5 a.m. near a Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern crossing in the small town of Eagle Lake. DME's last train went through around 12:30 a.m., they reported nothing unusual. The impact...

Real or Not? Take a look.

Mmmm, no picture showed up. I'll try again. If it doesn't attach this time I'll have to assume it go beyond my fire wall. If so, sorry for teasing. (I could email to someone else who has had luck posting before.)

Real or Not? Take a look.

This is a photo of my son and me. Are we really in the cab or did we fake this?

    double swicthI plan on insalling

I just installed a double crossover using 4 atlas #4s and a 19 degree cross (I think it was a 19 degree, I took the design right from the Atlas track planning book - back pages have exactly what you need to make the crossovers including the little shorty's that give you the proper distance for...

    proto 2k reviews needed

No advice on the 30's but I run 3 2K SD60s - I have a couple of really tight curves on the back 40 of a yard - they handle them great. How do they run? I continually find myself picking them for "fun" runs over some more expensive power. I love them.
