    A message about BIG PICTURES

Marxed, Anything about 640 * 480 and about 30K, when viewing on a computer, Marxed, is a waste of of time. How much of your screen the pic takes up is not really associated with the resolution, or size. A standard "photo" scanned at 75 dip (or your digital camera set to 300 ( or .3) is all...

    A message about BIG PICTURES

Want an easy way to resize your pics for the net? No software or know-how needed. Just use hotmail. Send an email to yourself, and use "attach picture" ( not file) and it will resize them accordingly and automatically for you, specifically for use on the net. Doesn't matter what the...

Do all DCC systems do this?

NCE Pro 5 AMP DCC. Do all DCC systems do this when switching locos on the one cab control? Using the same cab controller, I set loco1 merrily along it's way, then select another loco (loco2), that may, or may not be running along merrily elsewhere on the layout. As soon as I do anything...

Boo Hoo :( There goes my Chrissie Present

Well problem solved. It's a wiring problem in the power pack. Didn't matter what rating of fuse I put in it, it would still blow the fuse. The power supply has 2 X 4 AMP output windings. Wire them together to get 8 AMPS. The documentations says to wire the two outside( of the four...

    Forgotten Loco Addresses

Jeff, Now I've got it all up and going, I think that's the only way. But using the loco number ain't always the easiest. And I can't even remember my own phone number, let alone 20 different loco numbers!!! Some are mosty letters. i.e. CB1 or S1 etc. I'll get used to it I suppose. :)

    A Mind Of It's Own

Andrew, The DC controller is smooth (i.e. not pulsed), and the decoder defaults to DC=YES. It's an old Lima, (pancake motor) that is not too good on the track pickup. It's not all wheel pickup. Out of the 12 wheels, it only picks up from two at the front, and two at the rear. It's my "do...

Boo Hoo :( There goes my Chrissie Present

By hook or by crook (as they say) I'm not sending the power supply back, unless it's an absolute last resort. I've spoken to the guy that makes then, and he tells me that it's quite well known for the area I live in, has a dodgy power supply, and is often a higher voltage than should be. We...

Boo Hoo :( There goes my Chrissie Present

Well I've spoken to the manufacturer of the power supply, and there appears to be nothing I can do except return it under warranty. :curse: But I've got a workaround. :) My old DC controller has a 17V AC outlet on it, albeit not 5 AMPS, but that should at least allow me to try it all...

Boo Hoo :( There goes my Chrissie Present

Boo hoo.... boo hoo...   and a big baby WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!   And a big child temper tanty to add to that too. Not even a red lolly is gunna fix this one! My new NCE DCC Pro that I shouted myself for a Chrissie present doesn't work, and I've gotta send...

    A Mind Of It's Own

Guys, I wired up my first decoder last night (NCE D13SR just wires, no plug) and on DC it seems to have a mind of it's own. It runs fine, and speeds up, and slows down, and stops, and starts, just like regular DC, however, every now and then it just flips into reverse, and TOOT.... off the...

    Remember Me?

Ron, It's a NCE Pro 5 AMP with radio Pro Cab and basic tethered cab and 20 basic (3 function) decoders. Only had it delivered yesterday and was going to plug it in last night, but a storm and a 16 hour blackout put an end to that idea. So I'll meddle with it tonight. :D

How long do you batteries last

I've got a NCE Pro radio cab (ain't plugged it in yet), and the manual gives the current draw rate for the batteries in it. It also has a backlit LCD display. The manual says the batteries will run down much quicker if you config it to have the backlit light on all the time. However, the...

    Forgotten Loco Addresses

I shouted myself a Chrissie present this year. A NCE Pro 5 AMP (with power supply), radio Pro cab, and a basic tethered cab control, along with 20 basic (3 function) decoders. It has an iface for the pooter too, but that'll get plugged in at some stage later. I was gunna plug in on to some...

    Dunny Rolls

Guys, I've managed to acumulate quite a few of those innner carboard toilet roll tubes. A 100 or so, actually, over the years. Any ideas what I could use these dunny rolls for? HO scale, or course. Also, I've got about 20 or so, of the those inner cardboard tubes from calculator/cash...
