    Has my decoder died?

I've got two decoders that this has happened to. NCE D13SR basic 3 function decoders. Both locos worked on DCC last time I used them a few days ago. I did, however, put them on the programming track (to read all their CVs, and load into the pooter) before I put them on the main to use them...

    Block Wiring DCC?

I knew I read about it somewhere. About having DC sections of track with DCC operations. It's with TCS decoders. From http://www.bromsgrovemodels.co.uk/TCSDecoders1.htm It doesn't really address green_elite's original question, but does indicate legitimate use of a combination of DC...

    DCC Curiosity Questions

Just out of curiosity, and to determine who is doing what, I've got a few "survey" type questions of others. And to get a general idea of who is up to what, specially when it come to using a computer with DCC. Just reply with "quote" and slot your answers in after the questions would be...

Got it running! Well almost... one question...

Agatheron, You may have a couple of other settings "wrong way round" on the loco that wants to go the wrong way in your consist, even though you've set that loco consist config as "reverse when in consist". It may be going in reverse + reverse = forward. :) Check out CV 19. That is the...

    Cuppla videos for youse.

Dick, Then something is up. I can't get it NOT to work with anything "player" I throw it at. Are you on Windows XP with SP2 applied? Did you try to "right click" on the link in the post and "open in new window"? You mentioned you got "hundreds and hundreds of pages of jargon". Was that...

    Cuppla videos for youse.

Dick, you have a wrong setting in your computer. Firstly, did it give you the opportunity to "open" or "save" the download? Try the "save" option and place it in a folder that you know where it is. (you may have done this already). Next. go to the file, and "right click" on it, and...

    Block Wiring DCC?

If I recall correctly, and I'm pretty vague on this, but I read in my DCC command station and decoder info that there is a specific function (to do with signalling) that allows you to have sections of DC track. There is a CV for "DC detect" (or something like that) that is used for some purpose...

    It works!!

Just an update on the JMRI stuff. Have now got into it a bit more, and decoder programming, and I'll probably not use my cab controller for it again. It'll be pooter only from now on. :thumb: Wack the loco on the programming track and "read" ALL... yep. ALL the CVs at once. Have them ALL...

    Chooseing a Decoder

Dunno what's best for you and I suppose that is a decision for yourself. But for my first decoders I went for the pretty basic ones first. I have a NCE system, so just went with their basic 3 function (front/rear headlight and single function) decoder (no plug, just wires), and wired them into...

Guys, Just did my first video clip. It's a bit "dumbed down" to meet size, resolution and download requirments etc, but see what youse reckon. My Australian National Budd Railcar (circa 1970) leaves the workshop for the first time after a refit. I'll put a better resolution one...

    It works!!

Not yet, David. I need a web server, and appropriate web based software, but there's nothing technical or impossible stopping it happen. :) Plus I'm on dialup, so the frame rate that you'd get would be pretty slow, if I did set it up that way. :) But there's nothing to say it can't be done...
