Well that explains why I like them both :D Thanks for the links.

Thanks... I think maybe I'm messing with the settings a little too much, only cos there's so many of them to play with. It seems that all I may need is some decent lighting. Not to mention more time to spend on the model... haven't been able to touch mine for a few days now, and only having...

    FlyModel K-141 Kursk

What kind of marinade are you using on that weird looking spit roast? :p That's looking great so far, can't wait to see more.

[new] Komatsu LAV - JGSDF Light Armored

Very nice... Do you have any plans for an Australian LAV? I have a few pics of the Bushmaster and can find you some more if you like... another one we use that I'd be keen to get a model of is the Stryker. I'm not a military expert, so correct me if I'm wrong about the Stryker... I know...

Looking good there Chris, a nice clean build so far. Can you give us some info on what camera and settings you are using? Your pics look great and seem to be taken in a dark room. I haven't quite found the right balance yet, between camera settings, lighting and distance from subject etc.

    FlyModel K-141 Kursk

I was just thinking the other day that this would be a good sub to find a model of, while I was reading about the new british Astute class subs... I look forward to seeing how this one turns out, looking great so far... and big. :D Slightly off topic... another sub I'd like to build is the...

    Mad Max Interceptor (paperinside.com)

Thanks... I just sold a clunky old XF wagon for less than 300 bucks, if I could pick up an XA/B/C coupe for that much.... :p

    Mad Max Interceptor (paperinside.com)

Just a few minor updates, it's a nice weekend, I've been relegated to yard duty to prepare for BBQ season :D The two large fuel tanks in the back were almost as much a concern as the wheels when considering this model, I just haven't tried anything with a great deal of cylinders, circles...

I picked up a tip also (most likely from here somewhere) regarding snapping the ends of the scalpel blades in a way that lets you insert it further into the handle/holder thingy. Works well for me, but it's one of those "there's gotta be an easier way" type things once the snapped off end bits...

    Mad Max Interceptor (paperinside.com)

And thank you all for the comments, I had a feeling that putting the build out in public like this would help inspire me to keep going, and it's working :D

Here's that tumbler I mentioned... took me over an hour to find it, that'll teach me not to bookmark cool stuff when I see it The burgundy/silver car in the background of the first pic is the classic aussie coupe that the mad max interceptor was based on. A Ford Falcon XB GT. Now, back...

    Mad Max Interceptor (paperinside.com)

I couldn't agree more... i was almost going to attempt it before this one but this is my first Claudio model, and I was a bit skeptical at first (wasn't sure if my skill level was up to it). Now that I've seen how well his models go together I can't wait to build more of them. The more I...

It's the highly detailed treads that have always put me off doing a tank, but at the same time, they make me want to do one! I just don't have the skills or patience for them yet, but seeing build threads like this is always inspiring... I look forward to seeing how you go, all the best.

    Mad Max Interceptor (paperinside.com)

Just a minor update regarding the supercharger thingy, I forgot to take pics during the build process so only have a couple of the completed part. My printer is starting to show signs of old age, or it could be the cheap generic inks I use, but the silver parts all come out with a yellowish...

    Mad Max Interceptor (paperinside.com)

@gippolot Thanks, I hope to have it painted in the next day or two, just trying to find a can of matt black paint I know is at the bottom of a box somewhere. @Claudio, thanks for the kind words and permission to alter the model... however I think it's beyond my capabilities for now, but i'll...

    Mad Max Interceptor (paperinside.com)

I recently saw a site (linked from a post here somewhere) that showed the building of a 1:6 scale Dora railway gun... the guy who built it said "I started with the barrel, that was the hard part... if I could pull that off the rest would be easy". Smart man that one... Personally, I'm...
