    Interesting Locos

This afternoon, on our way back from the Kitchener Train Show, Spitfire and I stopped at the Kitchener station to take some photos. Out on the track, we saw this combination of locomotives. I thought it was an interesting assortment of both colors and reporting marks. I would appreciate any...

    Kitchener Train show pics

Hey, it worked. Whew. That's pretty small, though. Guess I'll have to try not reducing them quite so much. I'm gonna go away now and give you all a rest. I'll be back, though.

Resized Picture Here we go. I hope I've got it this time. Anyway, look for Val. Ok. I went through the process, and clicked upload. The "title" now appears under "Manage Attachments" in "Additional Options"; but how do I get it to actually appear in the message? Maybe when I submit...

    Kitchener Train show pics

One More Try Thought I'd try once more before we go to dinner. Sorry to keep boring folks with my problems, but maybe I can learn something. Aha. I found the problem. I thought my pictures were small enough; but this time I got a warning that it is too big. Will try resizing. I just...

    Kitchener Train show pics

Picture Problems My pictures have already been resized to 640x480. There's something fishy going on here, and it's probably with the operator (me). Just tried again, and no go.

Another Attempt at Pictures Ok. I am following your instructions. Let's see what happens. If this picture goes, look closely and you'll all see Val. I don't see nuttin! I followed the instructions, selected a picture and clicked on upload; but I think it uploaded into cyberspace...

Hmm. I thought I followed Val's and The Gauge's instructions and uploaded two pictures; but I don't see them. Will try again. If it doesn't work this time, I'll scream for help.

    Kitchener Train show pics

Good pix, Val. Thanks very much for taking me out there and back. I really enjoyed visiting with you and seeing the show. I agree that it was really better than I had hoped, although I really didn't have any idea what to expect. Now, let me see if I can add some of my pictures here (Ha Ha...

    2006 Christmas Train Show

Wish it was THIS weekend (4th and 5th) because I am going to be in Toronto. Maybe I can find the time to get together with Spitfire and some of her "gang" though. Call mu cell phone at 607-279-0702. We will be staying at the Holiday Inn on King, arriving this evening and departing next Thursday.

What personalities would your engines have?

Hey, great idea. I haven't "named" any of my stable of locos, yet; but am going to start thinking about it. I have both steam and diesel, and I'd like to see some other ideas particularly for the diesels.

    DCC and the Airport

I have never tried to take a DCC throttle in my carry-ons; but I do normally have a lot of other electronic equipment (AC supply for my computer, battery chargers, batteries etc) and have never had any of it confiscated. One time they took everything out of my carry-on and re-xrayed a bunch of...

    Looking Back Over Summers Fun.

Nice pix. I suppose I ought to go through all the ones I've taken over the past year or so and "grade" them, as I am sure some are lots better than others. I suppose, if I found some real goodies, I might even try posting them here.

Railway and Forestry museum. B. C

Nice pix, and it's nice to have folks think of you when they're traveling.

    Railfanning on the WC

My guess is the boxcars say CanadiAn on one side and CanadiEn on the other, as the latter is the French spelling. Alternate flashing ditch lights are pretty standard, and the engineer can turn them off and on as needed. I don't know the rules, but I think they usually alternate when...

    Canadian Pacific Railway GE ES44AC

Unfortunately, they probably won't be that clean when the snow flies.

    Railroad Ownership

If and when I ever get around to building the Housatonic and Cayuga, I'd love to have some folks come in and help me with it. As to my mind "disappearing into the lives of the LPP", I guess I really wouldn't know, as I am nowhere near that stage now. I certainly do let my mind wander when...

    Gotta Share This Movie

I have been using the term Ferroequinologist since I was in my teens, and that was 50 or more years ago. I have also seen it occasionally used elsewhere. If your father is on line, I'd love to meet up with him someday and "exchange Ferroequinology."

    Gotta Share This Movie

Great movie. I have had the good fortune to witness that same scene a couple of times myself; but your pix brought back great memories. Incidentally, to answer Train Nut, the location is Helmstetter's Curve (hope I got that right), but I don't know the exact location closer than that.
