USS SULACO by SKODA/ Jan Rükr / 1:320 Tuning

@ Dented Rick: No, the "member banned" refers to the member that was quoted in your post. After he was banned, this will show up on anyone's post who replied to him. And Wow Skoda! is it possible for you to do anything wrong? This build is just amazing! (I know I've raved about it before, but...

    Ceramic blades?

Good point Zathros. I'm tempted to try it out of curiosity. Must remember to use a light touch if I do...

    Ceramic blades?

Thank you Ken, I appreciate the information. It makes me think that a tool like this would be good for tiny precise cuts, while using the steel blades for everything else.

    Ceramic blades?

I hope I'm not asking a redundant question, but what is the consensus on ceramic blades? Lee Valley Tools has a precision paper cutter that looks interesting. (http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=66308&cat=1,51222) Has anyone used one or something like it?

    Hi @all again...

Hi! I'm going to be starting the Sulaco myself soon (have actually started printing). I think I'll follow your example and get everything printed first (as per your post on Skoda's build). Your daughter is adorable! (hmmmmm, micro kits. might be worth a try ;))

USS SULACO by SKODA/ Jan Rükr / 1:320 Tuning

As I've said before, this is inspiring! I really want to start this, but I think it will panic my huband to see all the paper I'd need, lol. My daughter would enjoy watching though... How many copies of each part would I need to print to get this kind of layering/texture? I've only ever tried...

    Sexist and Racist Comments

I just have to add my thanks! I have a 10 year old who likes to look over my shoulder at pictures of models and I've never had to worry about what she might read. So while thanks to Zathros and the other moderators, thank you to the members too!

Excellent suggestions, thanks! As soon as I get it all translated and can actually start building it, I'll post pictures.

Maly Modelarz Westland Sea King Mk.41

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right part to ask this: but does anyone know of an English translation for the instructions to the Maly Modelarz Westland Sea King Mk.41? Typing them out in Google Translate is taking forever, lol.

    Paypal

I had an issue with a product/seller on ebay and when they wouldn't respond to my repeated requests for even a reply, I opened a dispute with PayPal. They were the ones who actually resolved my issue. From the sounds of things, either I got lucky or you're very unlucky. Could it be because I...

    How to Prevent Fading?

"Paper modeling is very Zen like, the process not the end point that most of us enjoy the most." Well said John; I have found that to be the case myself. I hope, as I progress, that I do end up with models worthy of saving. The scrapbook aisle of a local craft store should have solutions to...

    Memphis Belle

This is fantastic guys (and/or gals)! I think I'm too new at this to try modifying a model that extensively. I should probably get a few more builds under my belt first. But at least I now have some options... (I could try the Maly Modelarz kit first, as niebla de fuego suggested)
