    How do you decide?

It's always great to see another Uintah fan. Dave, If you stick with about 1932-1936, the Uintah Rwy was in it's prime. You can run the widest variety of Uintah steam, and at that time, all track the Uintah ever owned had been laid. I do have some points you should consider though...

Uintah 2-6-6-2 or Micro Ace 0-6-6-0 Help

I'm looking for information on A) building the Uintah Mallet from any donor chassis, or B) building any articulated loco from the Micro-Ace chassis. But the original reason for the post was to find a thread I was told was here on the guage. It was about using the 0-6-6-0 chassis to build an...

Uintah 2-6-6-2 or Micro Ace 0-6-6-0 Help

I'm currently in the research phase, trying to decide if I have the brass (no pun intended) to build a Nn3 Uintah Railway 2-6-6-2 Mallet. The closest usable drivetrain for this project is the Micro-Ace 0-6-6-0 (Z scale). I found a thread in this forum with a review of the model, but that wasn't...

    Updates

Some of you know me from other places, others only know of my 2-3 helpful(?) posts. I just wanted to say I think you'll all be happy with these forums once the bugs are worked out. I have managed my own forums in the past, and it's a chore. Transfering a database to a new...

    Life-Like: Good, Bad, or Ugly?

My opinions are strictly based on N locomotives: Andy pretty much summed it up. You get what you pay for. BUT... for the price, they are good runners. I own 7-8 LL diesels and 2 steamers. The steam is so-so, but worth the price. The diesels are decent. Sometimes you'll get one that runs...

    Oooooh.... I Want This!

Those are some great looking cars. And the F-7s are even better!

What's Your Favorite Style of Diesel?

It's hard to beat the F3. But for me it's the Geeps that I love. Anything from a GP-20 to a GP-60. The SD-40 is a close second, but the six axles just don't look as good.

You've heard it 1000 times before But....

I grew up on HO, and came back to the hobby in N about 5-6 years ago. I miss HO dearly, due to the availability of oddball locomotives. By oddball I mean anything from DD35's, DD40's, DDM45's (brazilian narrow guage), Little Joe electrics, Centipedes, Critters!, Speeders!, and all kinds of...
