    Weekend Photo Fun 10-12 10-14

Definitely not looks, comfort, speed, comfort, or comfort..... Until #4 flames out ..... the crew chief safety wires the urinal shut AND "forgot" to put the honey pot back in the crapper. Sorry, I'm an MH-53 guy. But on the 130's side.... The funnest fixed-wing ride I've ever had, was...

    N or HO

Or just pick a locale that allows the same buildings to serve all of the listed eras. :thumb: It all depends on what you want to model. I fully endorse the 'variable era' layout, though. I'm another member of the "I can't decide what era I like most" crowd.

    Street lights/hydropoles/telephone ploes

5 year delay, but thanks for the info. :p 3/16" would be gigantic in N scale. ... almost 3 feet around. There are smaller sizes available, you just have to search for them.

    Mantua 2-6-6-2 HO

Well that's just wrong.... Uintah Railway was the origin of the 'logger'. Don't let them tell you it was Sumpter Valley. I can't belive Mantua denied a legend it's rite to fame! Yea, yea. I know it's not a perfect copy, but it's a shameless Uintah plug. Thanks for the link...

It's interesting to see the F-117s there. They're all in the process of retiring.

Gauge Fantasy League "Notes" Thread :) :)

I didn't get a chance to even look at this week's roster until the games had started. Let's hope luck is on my side. So far, it looks like luck was on my side for injuries. Almost everyone on the injured list has played so far.

    radioactive waste prototype

I don't think they're cooling fins. They look structural to me. It's probably just a different design. If they were cooling fins, I'd expect a great deal more of them with more length protruding.

Holy cow! That's not half bad for a default roster. I was not only out of town, but at least 6 states away. I couldn't come up with internet access before the week started, so I just let it roll. Talk about some luck. I guess that was just my week. Great time with the family. Great time...

    Favorite steam passenger power?

Alright, alright. If you want mainline... I'd have to go with the British Gresley Class A4 4-6-2s ("Mallard" and "Sir Nigel Gresley" are a few examples). There's nothing quite like those crude aerodynamics and ugly nose.

    Just Way To Funny

Very true. I have a spare Micro Trains Z scale F-7A shell from a Nn3 drivetrain sitting right here on my desk. It was machine painted, yet looks as if a 2 year old did it with finger paints. Absolutely the worst paint job I've ever seen on a factory locomotive. Not much that I know of...

    Just Way To Funny

Great listing. It's too bad the guy had to pay the auction fees for a $200 auction. But at least he got to spread the word. For what he paid, he deserves a better paint job - or a refund.

    Favorite steam passenger power?

36" Guage 2-6-6-2T Mallets on the Uintah Railway. Sumpter Valley made them famous, but Uintah designed them from the ground up. And, of course, the 36" guage 0-6-2T locomotives that ran 'normal' passenger service over the same line.

Gauge Fantasy League "Notes" Thread :) :)

This is actually the biggest roster I've ever had available on a fantasy league. I'll have to wait 3-4 weeks before I really make up my mind, but it seems a bit excessive. (The switch to Fox Sports is also slowing me down a bit, so that's a small factor) I am used to rosters such as the...

Las Vegas Dodged a bullet Yesterday

It's Las Vegas. You get the strange, unusual, and highly dangerous.... when you step out your front door. The city is lucky some fool didn't get hit by it at a grade crossing. At that speed, it would have been catastrophic.

    Rant: Outrageous Pre-order Lead Times

Yep, typically the hobby shop collects the money as a guaranteed sale. Cause if they are ordering a large amount of something, they have to know they can sell it. The manufacturer just needs to know that they can justify the cost of tooling for the model. (some tooling can cost $400,000 and up...
