Thanks! Thanks people, just the type of advice I was looking for - I wish I had done this before buying the HO stuff. Size of layout - at most 2m * 2m (approx 6' * 6'). Plus, if possible I'd like it to be *slightly* mobile so when we have house guests they have somewhere to sleep...

Hey All, I have a quick question (and a huge peroblem). I wanted to get into model trains, always liked and wanted to build something that looked good. I originally went for HO scale thinking it would be easier to work with, but since laying out the track on the floor realising I have not...

    L I M A ? ? ?

Lima seems to be going well in Europe. My first train was a Lima TGV (Thalys colours) running on Marklin C Track (bloody noisey!). However my main problem is the fact that the lights don't seem to work properly (only work in one direction) and when you run with the engine at the rear the...

    Brand compatibility?

Lima trains I run a Marklin c track, with a Lima TGV. However I think that there were Lima trains in the shop for other track systems. So I guess it depends on what it was built for, rather than who built the loco. Sorry.:( Good Luck.

    Digital Stuff....

Okay, I have found out what the cost of going digital is (very cheap in Holland - 150nlg for the tranformer bit, and about 150nlg per engine:D ) So now I have other things I'm interested in, how easy is it to use digital points? And how easy is it to run the whole thing from a PC (windows...

    Latest poll

Well it's not really budget that's going to stop me. I got my train and track (some of it at least) this year and next I have to build a permanent place for it. I've got a room, I have enough wood to make a table - but time and where to put the room full of unpacked boxes from when I moved in...

    Marlin Digital and Lima trains

Thanks Woodie, Thanks for the advice, I'll certainly check it out before I start to actually build, and you are right it is HO scale, although I have to admit that the choice of trains in the shop is what made me decide rather than the scale itself. As for the TGV, I think it would have...

    Marlin Digital and Lima trains

Hi all, Okay my first time here so you are probably going to think these are really stupid questions but here goes: 1) I have a Marklin C1 starter track with a C3 expansion kit. I am going to expand it to a 350 * 160 cm layout with tunnels etc, but I am wondering is it possible to convert...
