    My new Taco!

    I got a new Tacoma about 2 weeks ago, it's great! I went one winter without a 4x4, and it was too much! This should be fun in the snow and mud! To bad I don't need to buy anymore plywood for the layout! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

14 year old needs help asap

Hello and Welcome to the Gauge! It depends on what you want, but I would personally avoid a "loop" of track. You might get bored watching your trains go around and around in a circle. If you like switching, you could have a nice sized switching layout with that much room. (and they have no...

    My Z-Scale SD45

It's hard to believe that it is Z scale! Looks great, and 47 cars, wow! I have an N scale Atlas GP38, and it won't pull 47 cars!

    Car cards or waybills?

Just wondering what everyone uses to control what cars go to which industries on layouts? I'm trying to figure out a good system to use. Any ideas?

    grade question,

Welcome to the Gauge first of all. The thing with that steep of grade, is that you will need a bit of a transition to it. (which will take up even more room!) I wouldn't go more than 3%. I think that you loose 50% of your pulling power for every 1% grade increase. (APPROX) So if your locomotive...

    Walthers WellCars

I haven't seen any add on detail parts for them. I sure do like the weight of the Walthers cars! It beats having to add weight to the containers.

    Recycled Paper Mills????

Around 70% of modern paper mills use recycled paper, so would those mills use noting but reclcled paper? Or do they still use woodchips or pulp?

    TBA II Progress thread

Nice work on the layout so far! I can't wait to see more progress shots. I think it's really fun when a layout is in this stage. It can turn into almost anything at this point! Have fun!

    Anyone in or around Kelowna

Hey Glen, I was out there a few years ago when you had all the forest fires, but I haven't been there. We rented a house at the end of a street on the beach. It was really nice, it had a pool, seadoo's and it was about 1 minute from the beach! I was thinking you could make your yard longer and...

    SD70 ace's on CP Rail

CP is still testing them, so I guess we can hope they will buy some! I bet they will be quiet in the cab, not like the noisy AC4400's! Everything rattles inside them!

    Help about Calgary

I just saw this post, it seems as though everything has been mentioned already! Glad you enjoyed your trip Simon, after I dropped you off at the tracin station, I heard that train blow the whistle. I thought it sounded like an SD40-2! Too bad you didn't get your camera out in time! -Graham...

    Track Code

I would also go with code 80 for your first layout. Far less problems getting things to run right on it.
