    DCC Wiring Harness?

Talk to Tim Mayslan at Digistar. http://www.digistardcc.com/ I had him make a few of these for me using the NMRA 8 pin sockets. He could probably do the 9 pin JST sockets to.

    Somebody stop me!

Sounds like the points aren't making contact with the stock rail. Clean the back of the points and the area where the point contacts the stock rail. These are point fed turnouts. You can also solder a small wire from the point rail where it connects to the frog rail/ I have used motor winding...

    Hand uncoupling

A lot of my layout owner friends cut off the over-sized hose or glad hand on the bottom of the coupler. This does make it easier to uncouple and does a lot for the overall looks of a car. As Andrew said, make sure you have slack between the cars. Sometimes it also depends on where you put the...

    History on an old engine?

That is a Rivarossi "Casey Jones" 4-6-0. There is one for sale on EBay right now. Yours has the valve gear. His doesn't. Iwould say some of the 70's vintage engines had better drives and valve gear. Roundhouse made one almost exactly like it as a kit. Bill

That would be neat. My idea is to use the Hump Yard Purveyance Turnout controls, the ones that look like armstrong tower levers, at each tower location to just throw an electronic switch connected to a Tortoise machine. All the levers would be inset in a box mounted into the fascia big enough...

    My New Haven Photos

The layout dimensions are 25' x 35'. It's a double deck around the walls, center peninsula, walk in design. Good observation, I am modeling the 1950-1953 era. I love first generation diessels and run some steam also. Steam wan't gone on the NH until 1952 so I can run them as well.

Thanks, It is a little daunting but when it's totall built it will be a really good running railroad operationally. THe bottom deck will be the double track Hartford line that ran between New Haven and Springfield, MA. What you see is the Valley Branch. Both decks will have a lot of...

Those cars come out nice. I have about 20 of the 8K and 10K tanks to put together myself. Once you put one together the rest come easier because you know how. I've aready done 6.

    Distance between parallel tracks?

I'll echo what Jeff and others have said. When it comes to curves you have to increase the center lines between the tracks for car clearences. On most of my curves the track increases from 2 inches to 2.25 inches. On tight curves it increases more. I have a helix that I'm starting to...

    New sound ready BLI locomotives

They don't go into detail. They will either use throttle settings and fwd/rev switch settings or offer a controller sold separately to use the sounds. That's what others have done.

    DCC on board--

The newer Bachmann steam locos will have Sountraxx Tsunami technology DCC sound decoders in them. This is why I don't have my Tsunami Alco diesel decoder yet. :(
