One of the reasons I had to redo the track module was the textures i used. They got too complicated to edit and where resized too much So i tried a test, on the net found a few logos and picked the color from the box i have for the land raider that I scanned the result is in the pictures...

and the last two the top and rear covers are done along with the lights so i'll just need a test build to see if everything fits properly. Now i'm doing the side openings to place the weapons, all I need is the interior, and that is just a box so it should be easy

back with an update. the land raider that i had done had many issues when compared to the real thing. elements size where wrong and in some cases even the shape itself. I got one and scanned the parts before assembling and painting(first time ever so i messed up a bit...) and the new prototype...

thank you for your pictures Tirick, I also got a land raider and am scanning the parts. the one I built out of paper was actually a bit smaller...so i'm resizing again I also got a leman russ and compared to the other paper models it matches the size pretty well!!! Not much time these days but...

The testing went well, i even detailed a bit the central module. I'll post a few pictures later. Tirick, it would be really cool if you could post a few pictures of your model and the mesures of the plastic kit. It's really kind of you to propose that. Also any idea of the size of the Raider...

Finally found a picture from the top view.....and the elements size was all wrong. I made a test build for the previous elemets and it was way to large on the central element so it's back to design stage. Also the parts where reversed in papekura so I had to invert them in the 3d software to...

tracks are done.... individual links work fine but take way too much time to do so i opted for a solution that works just as well, the individual links will only be necessary for the round angles, straight lines will have the links grouped in photoshop. on the pictures you can see both tests...

actually it was just crazyness.... here is more progress on the model Could not find a good picture of one of the individual links so i created one in photoshop and made copies of it in a A4 page Also added a few more details to the top part of the model and corrected the textures

individual links, i plan on printing them on cardboard of 0.5 mil.

And finally my first test build. I started with the prototype white texture before actually printing the grey metal version I used 3 layer of the metal texture to create the different parts of the side, by using 1mm card board. It seems to work well, even if the final result is not as good as...

After a few minutes in Photoshop and mixing both a metal texture and the base view we get the texture for the track module. To give the illusion of a 3d surface I used drop shadow and Emboss on layers of the side view. Also the markings have been removed to allow customisation of the Land...

first thing to do is the tracks module, cutting he parts from the side view that are not part of the shape. The 3D shape extruded out of the side view is rather simple but with a good texture should do the job

Just started this.... I have to say that FlareBaffled is to blame for this kind of thing since he started doing the Baneblade and the Leman Russ tank.sign1 Hopefully I'll manage to finish the Land Rider
