    longest N scale single bridge

several trestle bridges are available, but for modern style bridges I think you'll have to scratch build it. I had to build my own 13.25" span out of styrofoam and cardstock.

for about $50, you can get a soldering iron with adjustable output, stand and even a few different tips. Try looking for "weller" or "unger" soldering irons on google. Here is one I found for $42. (scroll down to "WLC100")

Terrain for Trains N scale layouts??

I've seen them at several train shows and they advertise in MR. The ones I have seen were alright, You are basically buying a pre-made terrain (as the name suggests) you will still need to build the supporting benchwork and add scenic materials. The quality of the pices is fairly good and...

    Dogbones and Folded Dogbones

I put a folded dogbone layout into a 33" X 62" layout. (some pictures and a plan can be found here ) It requires a bit of finagling but can be done. I will add at this point that I am restricted in the length and height of the cars I can run.

    Couldn't Leave Well Enough Alone...

I think you have a marked improvement, with the working interchange and hidden staging. I would suggest that instead of a removeable scenery piece over your long tunnel, you make the fascia removeable or with openings to watch/access the train through that section.

You make time for trains, but ...

I work every other weekend so on the off weekends I... 1) get up early and spend a few moments outside drinking tea and watching the world wake-up. 2) cook breakfast for the family, usually scratch waffles or french toast, sometimes eggs and bacon. 3) send the kids to the cartoon room...

have you ever had to leave NEGITIVE feedback on ebay?

In about 75 e-bay transactions (all as a buyer) only once had a situation that resulted in me leaving a negative remark. Seller listed an item as the incorrect scale then refused to accept return. His argument was that he was not into trains, how should he know what scale it was. Gifted the...
