How about a scale vehicle thread

Here's a Liebherr derrick I picked up for a buck at the train show this weekend... There for awhile last year you could get 1:87 vans at Wally World 'til they pushed them out. The Dodges looked great as they were but the Fords were left with dorky looking rims. I swapped one set with a...

Picture thread of your Logging, Mining, or unique industrial equipment.

Thank you for the kind words, Kent. My Athearn Hustler has been re-geared with an A-Line/Ernst motor and gear setup. I permanently coupled two frames together and added JayBee wheelsets for better power pick up. I have two bodies for the second loco, which has also had its motor removed...

How about a scale vehicle thread

Thank you for the kind words. It really is just cobbled bits and pieces from my scrap box. The blade is hand curled styrene reinforced with a bit of T channel. I added a scraper blade of the same styrene about 1/16" wide. The hitch is a porch post from an N scale house. The lift is half a...

How about a scale vehicle thread

You mean like this? Just letting the glue dry out before I paint it. It's just bits and pieces from my scrap box. Got a little carried away and put clearance staffs on the outside in brass wire. My LPBs'll feel like their cars won't get dinged up by some yahoo this winter...

    Shunting/Switching Layouts?

Yes, it is an Inglenook. It can also be done in a 5-4-3 arrangement that raises the stakes 10-fold time wise. Thank you for the kind words. I needed a new photo diorama but I wanted something that will show my big steam well. That is why I chose the Inglenook as it can be taken to shows...

    Shunting/Switching Layouts?

Mine is what is called a 4-3-2. You start out with 4 cars and a loco with 3 cars on one track and 2 on another, leaving the third empty. You then draw 4 cars, each noting a particular car in the sidings. The object is to drop the 4 cars you have, while putting together a train---in the order...

I think it looks great and you're well on your way to your desired effect.:thumb: My one point to make would be not to put too much confidence in those doors unless they're of real good quality. I suggest supporting them at least every 24" as well as from front to back because they will sag...

My biggest problem is that both Dul Cote and Krylon have a nasty habit of picking and choosing when they want to dry flat. Sometimes I get an annoying sheen that won't matte over, no matter how many coats I use...
