hey, if UP was ever to change its colors, (like the KCS or SP or SF), what colors would their locos be? BEsides the traditional yellow, gray and red?

sign1 thanks Deano. once my Chameleon Paint stripper arrives, I will begin converting some of my engines. I do have a few UP engines that I will super detail and maybe re-paint, but will stay with UP colors.

lol somehow I knew thats what the first reaction would be. I am just joking Deano. I would not strip a brass engine. Sorry, I cannot sell this engine because it has sentimental value. My daddy bought me this engine :mrgreen:

I am currently stripping a bunch of engines, super detailing them, and painting them in the CSX YN3 Dark Future scheme. Im wondering if I should do that to this baby. I know...

i have some of the older dash 8s with the older mechanism that run just as good as the ones with the newer split frame mechanism. I love the detail that bachmann has added on the newer models. Overall, the newer mechanisms are not bad.

oh yea, speaking of big articulated steam engines, life like is releasing a second (or third?) release of the 2-8-8-2 mallet. I wonder how that will turn out. I have to stop buying so many modern diesel locomotives and save up to buy these new products.

So, do yall think the newly announced Big Boys will outsell their recently released Challengers? I have still to get a challenger...and a Big Boy for that matter. And what ever happened to the Overland SD70ACE orders? They've been "coming soon" for almost two years. EDIT: Its all N Scale...

Intermountain uses the Atlas chasis, not the Kato. I dont know if they got anything to do with Kato. But yeah, they should be able to run together. They usually use the same type of couplers too

I think mine is a UP SD90MAC-II from Overland. Either that or a Tunnel Motor by Overland. They're both brass, so who knows.

heh, you should see some of the ones in the yards here in san antonio. you'd be surprised. thats why I heavily weathered those two models. this SD90MAC II is one of my favorite locomotives. Its really heavy because its all Brass. But even the Mighty 90 does not compare to the humongous DD40.

So is Mexico. I think it would be silly to have road specific forums. This is the GENERAL talk, and its not flooded with rivalries between modelers of certain roads. I think if we add different forums, some people might take it a little personal and begin to bash the next line (especially UP)...
