    Woodchip Industry

Very interesting, rsn. I clicked on the "Chip Loading Terminal" link at the bottom and there are some nice drawings there. It would be a nice industry to model if anyone had the space. hehe. I'll probably scale it down and change the theme. I don't want any water or boats so I'll just...

    Woodchip Industry

Hum, I like both ideas, but I like rsn48's more. That's probably what I'll go for. I understand that the chips are took to this place by truck, and that there is some sort of little office??? (the token building thing). Is it possible for you to get some pics of it and post them here? I...

    Woodchip Industry

I love woodchip cars. I really love them. I have 4 of them in CN paint (DI) and of course I need a place to load/unload them on my future layout. The thing is that I don't have the space to build a huge paper mill or a lumber mill complex. My question is, what other industries, that are...

OK, Peco has my vote--Now, Electro vs Insulfrog

Ah!!!! much more simple with a drawing. Thanks you sir, I understand now!! I hope this is also helping Jaws, since it's HIS thread, lol!

OK, Peco has my vote--Now, Electro vs Insulfrog

I'm not using the switches. I'm hand-throwing the turnouts.

OK, Peco has my vote--Now, Electro vs Insulfrog

Does the wiring electrofrog turnout imply the use of switches (DPDT and stuff like that). If so I'll go Insulated because I don't want to be flippin' switches all the time.

    "New" layout

That's a nice gift from an obviously nice friend! :) Considering the grades and curve radius, I would stick to 4-axle locos and 50' and less cars. Actually, 40' cars would look even better. As noted before by the_great_snag, get yourself one good loco instead of 2-3 of poorer quality. You...

OK, Peco has my vote--Now, Electro vs Insulfrog

I'm over the same dillema right now. I'm definately going for Peco turnouts but don't know if I should get Electro or Insulated frogs. I'm going to cram 7 turnouts in 16"X60", so I fear that Electrofrogs might be complicated to wire because I have lots of turnouts in not a lot of space and...

I saw an interesting paint scheme today!

    the-gauge vs. Atlas forum

I love Atlas forum. Lots of great people there. The only thing I don't like is that one thread out of two is about someone wanting something to be done by Atlas or any other manufacturer, or about guessing what comes next....

    Burma-Shave

found it! It's from a not-so-old Life-Like catalog (wasn't able to locate any date), considering the Proto 2000 ad at the last page.

    Burma-Shave

Life-Like used to make these, I think. I'll look into my old catalogs and see if I can find them:p

    N Gauge idea

How about this : I used a switchback at the top because I find it boring when all your sidings are in the same direction (more complicated switching with switchbacks). You can also remove the yard at the bottom and add some more sidings if you prefer. hope this helps

Has anyone ever made one of these?

I think a kitbash using an Atlas 4-Bay Hopper and a IM Cylindrical (e.g. buy an undec kit, don't waste a nice car) would work.
