    Train show pics!

The 4-6-6-4 is O gauge, the 4-8-8-4 is HO gauge. Only the 4-8-8-4 is mine. The Challengers were numbered from 3980 to 3999, with the Big Boy at 4000 to X4025. Posted from WII, for some reason the pics won't load...

    Train show pics!

I just got back from a show over the weekend, here are a couple of pics of my HO Big Boy compared to an O-gauge 4-6-6-4 Challenger: HUGE PICS as always. I have a great video, but I can't convert it right now. Hang with me, I'll post it soon! Unfortunately, I was so busy running my...

You're Welcome at the LHR Railroad

Hey, look on the bright side, your daughter actually knows what weathering means at the age of seven...I probably would have been like "whut?" until I was 12! And nice picture method. You want some more tips, you should talk to my dad...lol

A paint scheme for the MV&P

Haha, I must be an engine nut too... Big Boy, GN F3 A-B and F7 A-B, 2x UP DD35, UP U28C, 0-8-0 UP steam switcher, and a GN diesel switcher on the way...as compared to about 6 rolling stock cars...sign1

    Introduction and comments please

Like I said, you could put it on the "shop table" and have your pegboard on the bottom.

    New engines hit the rails!

Hey, the AHM 0-8-0 looks a lot like the IHC 0-8-0 UP Switcher I just got. How does it run? Nice on both of them. I really am trying not to run any steamers with less than 8 drive wheels lol...so much for the dinky ATSF.

    Introduction and comments please

Oh, that little offshoot was leading into a wall? Hmm...you could make a small branchline that led to a folding staging area on the shop table, and have the bottom of the staging area be a pegboard for your tools. Example of what I mean (Paint FTW!):

More new trains and some old ones with new pics

Ok, sounds like a good idea; I hate soldering myself, I'll just get me good old dad to do it for me. WOOT WOOT we have achieved spaceflight! sign1 Ahahahahaha, they're not panoramic! I did indeed have room to back away and take hugeass pics then crop them down! I do get what you mean about...

More new trains and some old ones with new pics

I cleaned up the new DD35 and it runs almost as well as the other one; I asked Athearn about replacement trucks and the internal "band" of metal that goes over the top of the motors and holds the light and they told me they don't make the DD40 anymore and they don't have parts for it...:cry...

    CN Geep movies

Nice. I noticed the last engine's lights flickering too; however, I don't currently have sound so I couldn't match the two up. Ah well, maybe at home...

More new trains and some old ones with new pics

That's a U28C goofball. And I have the handrails for those two, they just weren't installed by the previous owner. The two new ones (which are actually the U28C and the DD35 on the RIGHT (I switched the shells) don't run very well because the previous owner didn't take very good care of them...

    Does this exist?

I will NEVER take a tool of any kind to any one of my locos or rolling stock unless it's just for routine maintenance. I do not really care if they look "right" or not...

More new trains and some old ones with new pics

CAUTION: LONG IMAGES! Ok, to start I just want to say that this is the last thread I'm going to make before I start my layout, so any other new stuff will be put in here.

Denver and Northwestern RR (kind of)

Smallest radius is 24", largest is 26.25". I don't think I'll have any problems; I've ran both on as small as a 22" radius with no problems. 18" and the Big Boy dies..."Rated for 16.5" absolute minimum" my ass sign1

    Does this exist?

...Oh come on. Biased my a**. I just happen to love the...oh good point. Just kidding, I based that on facts. No other engine at that weight could outpull the Big Boy.
  19. S

    Does this exist?

Yes, but it has been proven that the Big Boy was the overall best steam locomotive because of its balance of power and size. The Big Boy had the most power for its size of any steam locomotive ever; that's why it was able to pull mile-long consists up Sherman Hill alone.
