New layout photos with the new camera

Those are reallly great pictures. I and I'm sure others would really like to know just what manual settings you used to get that great depth of field. Also, was this last macro shot done in manual also? Keep up the good work. Jim

    Digital Camera Poll

Hi David, I've got a Fugi FinePix 2650 I paid $200 for. Basically a point and shoot with the addition of some manual control over the flash mode , white balance, and exposure compensation. It also has a pretty good macro for a more inexpensive camera (it focuses to within 4"). I took the...

Valley N Traks labor of love

Bill, Being a newbie at all this, I am always amazed at the level of craftmanship that I've seen displayed on this and other forums. Your group certainly ranks right up there at the top. Especially considering the challange of actually representing something as it was in real life. Great...

    Digital Camera Poll

I'm really enjoying looking at all the Model Railroad pictures that folks have posted on the various forums. It has occured to me that it would really be nice to know what digital camera was used to take what pictures. Also what image editor may have been used. If someone is camera or image...

    Rookie needs advice

Hi RoRo, I'm pretty new at all this and am building a 4x8 from the book "From Set to Scenery". Anyway, I set it up for DCC with the Digitrax Zepher and love it. I've had several grandkids (ages 4-7) running it with the auxillary throttle and they do great. The nice thing about DCC is that...

    Logging Pictures From Jim T.

Actually, to expand on the logging pics idea I could see where it would be nice to have a site where all kinds of pictures, such as old buildings suitable for modelling could be posted. It could be broken into different catagories (logging equip., switching yards, buildings, tunnel portals...

I'll hunt for the cat next time I go by there. Also if there's a lot of interest in this sort of stuff, I'd enjoy putting together some sort of photo album of the equipment up there. Sounds like a good excuse to have a webpage. LOL Cheers, Jim

    Logging Pictures From Jim T.

These pics were taken at a logging display up in the Oregon coastal mtns. It's on the hwy between Seaside, OR (on the coast as the name implies) and Portland, OR. One of the old area loggers started this display and built a nice restaurant to go with it. They have a huge amount of equipment...

    Benchwork question

The 2 X 2 legs on my 4 X 8 layout are in 14" from the ends. None in the middle, but they do have some 1/4" ply gussets and some 1 X 2 cross bracing. It's the construction out of the book "From Set to Scenery" and is L-girder construction. Cheers, Jim
