    Poll: Operations

I'm going with the car cards/waybill system. In fact I printed out some car card and waybill blank forms and am making up my first car card. It's starting to come a little clearer. Cheers, Jim

    Car Cards and Waybills

Thanks to all for their input. Lots of good info. I've also been over on the Railroad forum checking out their Operations section that Tad listed. Gary and Don, I've found a couple of sites that are really helpful. One is the Operations SIG that has a good primer...

    Car Cards and Waybills

Hi All, I've been over on the Car Cards group reading up trying to figure out this whole operating system thing. Plus reading up on Shamus's system. It made me wonder how many over here use some sort of car card-waybill system to move cars around. Seems like it would add a whole new...

logging layout ho scale in 1900-1910

Summit, Tnx for the heads up on the book about lumbering around Vernonia. Vernonia is about 40 miles from where I live and I've been there many times. I'll probably have to get it to add to my logging book library (OK, it'll be the first book in my logging library) LOL. Best Regards, Jim

    Camp site

Looks real good, Paul. That's a good idea to let the people living in the camp do some of the work. Now I'm starting to see how you can get so much layout work done. I gotta get me one of those work crews! Cheers, Jim

    woodcutters home

"The little lady is I think Lost." And I'm not to sure about the guy on the porch, he seems to be scratching his head about where he is also. I think we better look around the area.......there might be a still hid out there somewhere that he's been helping himself to. Cheers, Jim

What keeps you from getting bored?

Good point Ron. When I do a little something to my very unfinished 4 x 8 layout I take a digital pic of it and I'm really amazed how neat it looks when I view the pic without any of the surroundings showing. Cheers, Jim

    0n30 website

Boy, I know what you mean Paul. I just hate it when I forget to "hyperlink"!! LOL Anyway, it's a great looking site and railroad. Cheers, Jim P.S. I'm really enjoying your two model railroad CD's. Was looking at them again last nite.

    Clickable Trackplan

Works great for me, Paul. What a wonderful idea! It really helps to see the track plan and then see pics of what the end result is. This sort of thing will help a lot in track planning for me. Tnx for you're efforts. Cheers, Jim

    Digitrax Zypher?

No reverse loops yet, but as I understand it there is automatic reversing electronics to help this situation. Jim

    Shamus' CD

I've got both cd's and think they are really great! Lots of good info and wonderful pictures. Jim

    Digitrax Zypher?

I've got the Zypher and it works great for me. However, I don't have anything to compare it to as I just got into model railroading last fall. I have it on a 4 x 8 and don't see any problem expanding it. Jim

    Many thanks to all

I've had both of the CD's for several weeks now and am thoroughly enjoying them. Both contain a wealth of info and are going to be an important addition to my reference library. I enjoy setting up the picture CD as a slide show and then sitting back and watching the pics go by Cheers, Jim
