    The Gauge Railway PT 1!!!

Multi-color-limited How about choosing(sp) three to four acceptable/traditional colors for the members to select from. This would allow each builder to use a color that might be era appropriate. This variety of colors could be explained through mergers. ie:BNSF - green BN hoppers/red SF...

    Mix and Match?

Signals on "wrong" side??? Brakie, Was the C&O one of the railroads that put their signals on the left side of the track and therefore had the engineers seat on the left in their locos. Where as most "normal" railroads have their signals and engineers on the right. Bob, Missouri...

    cabooses are not extinct!

Still one active caboose in Tulsa... The UP still uses a caboose daily here in Tulsa. I think its an ex-Mopac "transfer" caboose - small cabin, large porches. They use it each evening when they run from their yard in east Tulsa to the UP yard in Muskogee. Then after that crew returns in the...

    A Vacation...

Make a BIG circle... You could make all your stops - FL to Tysons to WV to Cleveland to OKC by way of Tulsa(where I live) and back to FL. DeLorme Street Altas says about 4000 miles and 70 hours drive time. Sounds like that fits your definition of a vacation perfectly!!:D ;) :eek...

    St. Louis Terminal layout plan

More drawings/sketches on the way... First let me add my welcome to MikeB. And Mike, don't let the fact that I'm working on a similar idea slow you down. What you decide to include as "must have scenes" of the area and the space you have to dedicate to a layout, would lead to a greatly...

    I'm Back!

Guess I'm in real trouble. Only been here a week and left for two days. But I had a good reason...if that helps my case any. I promise to be good from now on.;) ;) Went from Tulsa, OK to Tremonton, UT(forty miles north of Ogden) to pick-up a stranded co-worker, his family, and disabled...

    Burning your bridges?

I think they mentioned something about molten metal from one of the railcar trucks. When they stopped, could the molten truck have fused/welded itself to the rail, making it impossible to pull the cars off.... Just a thought...does that idea make any sense...

    St. Louis Terminal layout plan

This is an idea I've been toying with for about 9 months. For those not familiar with the St. Louis area, they have the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis(TRRA). This company is owned by many of the other railroads that serve the area - kind of a "shared assests area". They own all...
