    Copper Ridge Railway, Mark II

My old computer desk has recently been vacated, so now I have a nice 4' wide by 2' deep table ready-made for a layout. Space is at a premium in my house, and this looks like the best location for a layout at this time. I've been tinkering with a number of variations on the...

    Internet stores

My favorites are Brooklyn Locomotive Works and Trainworld. I've done business with both and have been very pleased. Their prices are, in general, the best I've seen. Trainworld's web site doesn't have all of their stuff online, but they seem to carry just about everything.

    Edison convention center show

Belg, If I'm not mistaken, these cars are manufactured by Cache Creek. I saw some at a show a few weeks ago and was very impressed. I told the vendor (Angelo Hobbies) that he almost convinced me to switch to HO scale! -Rory

    Desfiladeiro do Vale do Sol

Thanks for the info! I figure an 8% grade is an easy compromise to make considering the size of the layout. If any purists say anything, just say that the line is selectively compressed! :) You can use the Altavista Babelfish translator to translate that page from German to English They...

    Desfiladeiro do Vale do Sol

Well, I just ran a test on my office layout. I ran all but one of my locomotives pulling a short ore train (two hoppers plus a bobber caboose) up a 10% incline over turns as sharp as 9.75 inches, and they ran fine. It barely phased my Bachmann 2-8-0 and Life-Like SW-9/1200. Of course, I'm...

    Desfiladeiro do Vale do Sol

Nelson, That's a great looking layout for such a small space! I'm tinkering with track plans right now for a 2'x4' layout. What is the grade on the 1st level passenger line? I'm trying to determine what the practical limits are... Thanks!

What is the Smallest Radius a 6 Axle Diesel Can Negotiate?

I've run a Kato SD90 Mac on 9 3/4" radius curves without any problems. It hangs over quite a bit, but it still works!

    Weird Layout Benchwork Idea

Basically, any horizontal surface is a potential train layout table. If you can fit it on there, then it'll work! The September 2000 issue of Model Railroader featured a layout by a guy in Sweden that was built into some IKEA shelves. It was a small HO switching layout. As long as you...

    Scenery for my 0n30

Well, as usual, I'm a little bit late to the party. It took about 10 minutes to download all of these pics, but it was worth it! My wife and I are always big fans of your work! Thanks!

We stopped by Chisolm Station, which is a large scale model railroad store located in a plant nursery (901 Sam Bass Road, Round Rock, TX). I got really into talking about garden railroading (my wife and I want to build one), so I didn't take many pictures. I wish I had thought to do so...

This aquarium was really neat. The fish are painted on a film that moves.

The Tinplate Trackers of Austin had a display set up in a vacant retail space near the Collectible Caboose. It was a modular layout, and the trains were controlled by remote. Lionel Heaven!

This was my favorite structure on the layout. The warehouse in the background was a nice touch, too.

Silos. They were running an operating session during the tour. This engine was moving some cars into a siding. Note the star on the top of the building. You see a lot of that sort of thing here in Texas, especially at Christmas.
