    Atlas Shay

From what I understand, Atlas purchased the tooling for the Mogul from Micro Ace. My guess is that they didn't want to go through the expense of changing things up to ship the model with Accumate couplers. Fine with me. If I get one, it's going to get an MT coupler, anyway! :)

    Challenger Challenge

I wish it were that simple, Don. The camera itself won't even come on. At first I thought the batteries were dead, but after putting in two different pair of good batteries, it still wouldn't work. I don't know what happened to it. It seems to have "crashed" right after I filmed a movie of...

Discrimination at Superbowl, or Money Makes You Above The LAW?

I wasn't going to post anymore in this thread, but when I read this I had a disturbing thought... Do these people go into the cafe...nude? That'd put me off my lunch PDQ, especially considering some people's personal hygiene habits (or lack thereof). Yuck!

    Challenger Challenge

My son and I went and saw the Challenger in Crockett, Texas today. We had a very good time (and I even have a head cold). I got some great pictures, too! Unfortunately, my digital camera has mysteriously quit working, and I can't upload the images :curse:  It was amazed to see so...

Discrimination at Superbowl, or Money Makes You Above The LAW?

Having MTV put together a "family" show is like setting the dog loose in the meat locker. It's just not a good idea...

    Small N-scale Layout

eatst14, that's a great idea. With a little creative effort, that could be hidden staging. It would definitely add a lot to such a small layout. Mr. Squirrel, I really like that plan. I sat studying it for some time. There is a lot of potential. Thanks for the suggestions!

Virus Season - the computer kind

According to Symantec, Novarg/MyDoom (this latest virus) avoids distributing itself to hotmail.com. This has got to be the strangest one yet...intentionally avoiding certain domains (and all .edu), then making a limited attack on the SCO website (from 2/1/04 through 2/12/04). Weird... Why not...

    Challenger Challenge

Union Pacfic Challenger 3985 is in Houston, TX right now for Superbowl Weekend. It will be travelling back to Cheyenne, WY next week. I plan on trying to see it in Crockett, TX when it stops for service. My challenge is this: If anyone else is on the route, get some pictures of it...

    America vs sweden :P

Of course, it used to be the other way 'round. I don't know if this is taught in any kind of world history classes outside of the U.S., or if it's all that well known, but did you know that the United States fought in a war with Mexico? The Mexican-American war was fought from 1846 to 1848...

    America vs sweden :P

I think this song by Randy Newman pretty much sums it up: http://www.ocap.ca/songs/polsci.html But in the interest of fostering better understanding between the good, free peoples of the United States and evil (although beautiful) people of the Empire of Sweden, here is a language translator...

    Small N-scale Layout

Well, you could go smaller, but then you'd be getting into the realm of "mini" and "micro" layouts. I saw, somewhere, an N-scale loop that someone made on the top of a coffee cup!
