Model Of The Month: USS Kelvin

This is the first that I have seen of this model, I hope he doesn't abandon it. It has very VERY graceful lines. As was noticed earlier the engine and lower hull are gorgeous!Would love to see this textured.

    2001 ASO USSC Discovery One

As the saying goes- if it ain't broke, don't fix it. And your discovery certainly isn't broken. In all honesty the film model may well have a smaller gap where you indicated, if the nuts are not perfect hexagons with all six sides being the same length. Looking at the film model, it looks to...

    Building my own x-wing

The engine attached to the wing looks great. This is going to be one unbelievable model!

USS SULACO by SKODA/ Jan Rükr / 1:320 Tuning

That is so COOL! Ah! I see by the "02" designation number that that is the "Smart Ass" dropship.

Model of meritorious mention Sulaco 1:430 scale

Wait . . . chocolate? Wouldn't the heat from the engines melt it? I think Zathros didn't get his dose of sweets today. :p

    Boba Fett

No, no, that would be the Colonial Marines. :p @ Loenf- I love the Jawa! He looks like he is posing for a picture with the intimidating Boba Fett!

    Building my own x-wing

I agree. Those are some mighty nice pics. Not "hero" pictures, to be sure, but very clear "behind the scenes" pics. Reminds me of the first "The Making of Star Wars" shows and how obsessively I watched them to see just exactly how they filmed the models.

    Star Trek TOS Soundstage (WIP)

My oldest brother got his Computer Science degree in 1980. I remember gonig with ihim to watch him load his program into their mainframe using punch cards. At the time he was able to read them just by looking at them. I also remember one of the highlights of those trips to the NTSU computer lab...

    Star Trek TOS Soundstage (WIP)

Yes, they were. I remember back in the day, carving "the code" into rock with Hammurabi.

    Crichton from Buck Rogers

Now wouldn't that get a whole lot of us in trouble with our significant others?

Model Of The Month: Garrus Vakarian

I hate to sound like an addition to your fan club- but they are right. This is looking like a very clean and crisp build. Almost- inhuman. :p

    UHU's Enterprise

Well, my first was using 20# paper (about 80gsm if I recall correctly). I've used 67# paper (somewhere around 160 gsm) for many of my other works (not that I've done much with paper). Thisker paper is a little harder to cut, but if you are using xacto type hobby knives it really isn't much of...

    2001 ASO USSC Discovery One

Yeah, it is a bit of an undertaking for your first dip into the paper model pool! MAybe you should have tried something simple, like Jan's Sulaco, or Uhu02's Das Boot. :p Regardless, you are doing an outstanding job on this. It looks great.

Model of meritorious mention Sulaco 1:430 scale

NICE! So if I have my bearings right . . . . that's the opening that Ripley used to eject the queen alien from Sulaco. Ok . . . . so only thing we need now is a scaled down queen. (And I'm not talking about Elizabethsign1)

    Tiny Thunderfighter

I think he needs a scale Twiki and Buck standing next to it. I would have said a scale Wilma, but she really needs to be 1:1 scale for proper- ahem- appreciation.

    3' galactica (new séries) project

Teachers call this "A learning moment" the rest of us call this fraking up. All we can do is grit our teeth and plow on. Hmmm . . . . are you sure your son's friend isn't a Cylon agent? From seeing what you have done, I have every confidence that you will restore power and atmosphere to...

    UHU's Enterprise

Welcome ClassX! The Enterprise looks good! Much better than my first models, of course it looks like you've avoided my first big mistake: trying to use copy paper for a large model. :p We look forward to seeing more of your work.

USS SULACO by SKODA/ Jan Rükr / 1:320 Tuning

Nice looking drop ship! I can't tell from the photos- is that the "Bug Stomper" or the "Smart Ass?" Your patience, skill, and perseverance are inspiring and your work never ceases to amaze.

    Building my own x-wing

The guns look really good. I like the layering on the engine details. Was that in the design or your addition?
