13"r should be more than enough for even the 90MACs. But autoracks may give you trouble--restrict them to the outside main. Anything 15"r+ is best for autoracks. Besides, the overhang of an autorack on a 13" r curve will knock other adjacent trains off the tracks, on curves...

I dunno how tight it is, (7-9"r)but the LL power-loc track that came in a starter set, put together into a loop, is too tight for SD40-2's. I have tried it, even nailed the stuff down to plywood...

Anything above 10-11"r should handle any 6-axle engine fine, even 90MACs.

Should, without too much trouble, save for rough track work.

Been there, tried that. I have tried the Peco C80 trunouts in the small radii, and they are roughly 9" radius. A Kato SD40-2 *the mainstay of my BN fleet* will not negotiate it, no matter what speed. The truck wheelbase is just too long. As for uses? Restrict the area to only 4-axles, or if...

Troy, Let me caution you, Peco #4 turnouts are not very compatible with 6-axle locos. I have tried. Maybe you meant #6, or medium radius turnouts. Looking good!

Sorry, I can't help with shells, but these locos are still wandering the system, and they were built about 1966!! A true testament to the engineering and design of these powerful locos.

Where are you gonna put staging? I did double-ended, and a stub-end staging area.

In the UP Cheyenne yard, exists a still in-use baloon track on the west end of the yard, next to the old C&S (now BNSF)overpass.... Most western US coal mine loadouts have a large baloon track for loading unit trains....

But the few loops that exist still carry trains! Looks neat!
