Any forumites going to the Plano, TX show in January?

A Z scale club?!?? I like Z, and my wife has started into Z, but a club? Wow, you folks must have quite a number of Z enthusiasts to build a club! I look forward to seeing every one of you!

    Tunnel Motor shots!

This is an email I sent to IM, and included the pics I posted above: To Whom It May Concern: As a regular customer for your great N freight car products, I eagerly stepped up for a Tunnel Motor unit, even though the road I model, BN, never owned any such units. I had watched various...

    My Z-Scale SD45

Welcome aboard, Pray59! When I built my GN Ocean View Great dome lounge: I used Tamiya clear green acrylic paint. I airbrushed it on the underside of the dome glass casting, full-strength from the bottle--too opaque. I then took a q-tip moistened lightly with 91% alky, and painstakingly...

    New N Scale BNSF Layout

I really don't see where you'd put a liftout, where you wouldn't have such a lot of track to cut, and be able to run thru. My liftout has one track, and getting that one track 'dialed-in' and tweaked for reliable use, took a couple weeks of off and on tinkering. A roll-under is a good option...

    New N Scale BNSF Layout

If you build the loadout track around a hill, the hill itself could camouflage the tighter radii. (12-15" rad?) Coal trains have short length cars, unlike autoracks, and the engines avail. in N are readily able to handle such a tight curve. I know you already have the benchwork up, but I am...

    Tunnel Motor shots!

Shown for length comparison: Kato SD40-2, much shorter than T-2! But it seems the Kato mech weighs more.. Curious...

    New N Scale BNSF Layout

My old layout in Minot, ND was 17x9'.... I like the mainline layout. It gives so much more run! The coal flood loader track? I am thinking it should be a bit further from the mainline. As in, more scenery between it and the main. I like the first plan, since the fload loader is separated...

    My Z-Scale SD45

Only 4 pass cars? You need at LEAST 10 to make it look realistic! That poor credit card....

    My Z-Scale SD45

The GS-4 Daylight is the no-brainer. Get a set of pass cars, painted in Daylight livery, and run them thru Canada's best scenery! Doubleheaded?:thumb:

Did you get any trains for Christmas?

Score! While Santa wasn't as loaded down when he came to my tree, he was still good to me! 2 High-hood B23-7 engines--to be kitbashed into BN B30-7A's, the cabless units. 2 GN Big Sky Blue Intermountain ACF 3-bay hoppers, MT GN 56' tanker, Delux Innovations (old) Northern Pacific woodchip...

Any forumites going to the Plano, TX show in January?

I know, it's a bit early, and I am going down on business, to Wichita Falls. I love to meet other model railroaders, see their layouts, and doing it all at a show is even better! Who's with me? The more the merrier!

John, I have a 10X optical lens on my Fujifilm Finepix S5000. The macro will really get close, as seen here: (an N scale SD70MAC in Alaska RR)
