Tunnel Motors on the BN High Prairie Sub!!

I used aperture priority to get theses shots. It needed depth of field, so I had to crank of the dial to f8, as high as she'll go. I think it turned out nice. No tripod, just creative techniques in holding the camera still with various things, and the self-timer made it happen minus shake...

A local railfan looking to catch the elusive RS-3 on the BN High Prairie Sub took these shots today: He never did see the RS-3.... Must be lurking in the shops... Here's the DRGW units, as they arrived in Hauser, WA this afternoon: Sharp-eyed railfans will note DRGW 5510, an SD50 in...

Bachmann Spectrum vs. Kato & Atlas

I have, out of 27 engines, 13 Katos. For a reason. Smooth, great pullers, quiet! I also have an Intermountain tunnel motor. Very quiet, smooth, great slow-speed control. If I had decoders in my LL GP20's, I bet I could MU the 2 together without problems. The Atlas engines are smooth...

    Re: WALMART and SPEEDEEZ CARS

After disassembling the cars, and razor-sawing off the outlandish body ground effects kit, touch up paint, remounting the wheels (new tires needed): The silver truck is stock, the Jeep is modified. They look a lot more off-road worthy than before! All I need now are better...

    Wright Turnouts for Z

cidchase, Actually, I don't have any. I know Marklin is very pricey, and they look funny with that monster switch machine box overhanging the turnout. I just wanna know if anyone has Wright turnouts, and how well they work. I can handle the small amount of wiring to make the turnout live...

    Different shades of CP SD40-2's

My best advice to you is to check a proto photo for the particular unit you are modeling. Take special note of the date the pic was taken.

    Different shades of CP SD40-2's

I dunno about Canada, but FRA required auxillary lights (ditch lights) deadline of 1994-95. The following in a clip from an email from Al Krug, a hogger for BNSF in Sheridan, WY: "In the 1980s the BN started replacing the yellow bubblegum flashers on the cab roof with deck mounted strobe...
