    Best permanent track?

Great info, thanks again. Here's the plan..... Planning on a very large, permanent set in a large basement. Not sure what the overall layout will look like yet (E shape, dogbone, etc) but I want to run freight between 2 decent size towns, one mountain town (ala Durango CO type) and one...

    Best permanent track?

Helps a TON, thanks my friend. So I assume with Flextrack you aren't limited to 18", 22" and 30" turns? You can basically set up any radius you want?

    Best permanent track?

The place I used to go to in NJ has Micro Engineering track 100, 83 and 70 Rail or Flextrack plain or weathered plus ties joiners and spikes. Any opinion on what looks best and runs best out of this?

    Some stupid questions

Hahahaha, AESA radar and data fusion. I'm in a steam gauge slant alpha Dash these days. I'd just be happy with FMS. I guess I'll get my top-of-the-line tech fix with my future model railroad. sign1

Barbie Jet as in the EMB145 and the CRJ 700/900. I am definitely going to go with DCC once I get started. What the heck does ditch lighting mean?

    Some stupid questions

So depending on how much you want to spend and how many bells and whistles you want (no pun intended), you can place different decoders in a loco?

    Some stupid questions

I'll definitely have to check out that shop! Employee lot is off Lefferts Blvd. Is it close to that? I'm definitely going with the pricey permanent layout. Now I just need to pick a city to buy a house in so I can get started! sign1

Awesome, thanks! Unfortunately I'm out of the jet for a bit. Flying Delta Connection Dash-8 turboprops. Are the DCC set-ups hard to wire?

    Some stupid questions

So I've read that most of the cost of building a model railroad are the decoders you need to place in the loco's....do they not come with them when you buy them?

    Some stupid questions

PLEASE forgive my ignorance but I haven't been in the model railroad game for almost 20 years and am ready to get going on a basement set up, but, I have some questions. What is DCC? What are the best resources to learn wiring and track layout? Whats best...a DC, DCC or AC set up? Its funny...
