    Bachmann Spectrum F7A & B

Once in a show I saw a new Bachman Spectrum Conrail CW-44AC that caught my eye, and asked the dealer if it would run fine (unlike regular Bachman), and he said that at first they are OK, but you should lubricate them if you want it to be great. I flinched and walked on. Let us know how it runs.

    St. Lawrence Cement

That picture you had on that old thread reminds me of this plant (which is mainly brand new) down the road. http://unionbridgevfc8.homestead.com/page8.html I'm sure your's is new too. The one your modeling reminds me of the blast furnace kit!

    St. Lawrence Cement

http://home.cox.rr.com/hydesystems/MER/rails-to-sails.html It has a picture of the mill buildings and kiln. It also has a photo of the Switcher! To make the building on the far right, I'll use a modified Medusa kit. I know I can't exactly model this, but it will be close or at least simular.

    St. Lawrence Cement

Actually, I'm going to have a few coneyors going off the board for now, until I finish most of my layout. Then Eventually, I will use my old table's 4 by 4 board, and lift it with bricks or wood a few feet below my current table and then level it up with foam, to the other table. Then make the...

    St. Lawrence Cement

If you want to see the prototype dome, here's a link: (It's the fourth down the list) http://www.temcor.com/bulkstorage.htm The last picture is of another Portland Cement Plant's dome about a dozen miles away.

    St. Lawrence Cement

I'm also considering sound clipping the kiln, which has heavy metal chains in it giving it a weird sound. BTW, this plant has heavy rail action. It has it's own switcher, and about 4-5 cars daily. The plant has a 3 rail siding, that led to the old plant (now pretty much demolished), which...

I'll post pictures, and a video. My digital Camera has Video Clips, for about 15-30 sec.

    St. Lawrence Cement

In a few weeks I'm going to start St. Lawrence Cement. The prototype is a few miles from my home. I had a tour a few weeks ago. It is a Portland Cement Factory. I'm likely going to buy another Superior Paper, and use the kraft mill, which looks like the "mill" building, where stones are...

    I like BIG buildings,

I shouldn't brag, but I got it for $30 new! It was on the shelf for a few years!

    I like BIG buildings,

About 1/2 mile from my home, and directly next to my neighborhood, there's a Mack Truck Plant. I think they make engines there. Anyways, it's HUGE! There must be 20 different buildings each about 150,000 sq. ft. It has a huge water tower with the Mack logo on it. That might be a good...

    Complete Steel Mill

Does anyone here know if Walthers will make the Coke Oven and Rolling mill in N-scale? I'm finishing up the blast furnace, which came out a few weeks ago, and planning the space around it.

    I like BIG buildings,

Catt, what did you base that on? I'm also a fan of large buildings. My layout has Supierior Paper, the U.S.Steel Blast furnace, ADM, Roberts, Red Wing, etc.

    Smoke

The smoke came out the motor! Luckily I caught the problem. A spring wasn't attached right.

I noticed that also, how their cars are in life-like sets.

    Industrial Cars

Once at a hobby shop I saw a brand of cars (mainly box cars, but a few hoppers and tank cars) called Industrial. The cars were $2.99 each. How come no one lists it as a brand? I only saw it at one place. I checked a handful of web sites but found nothing!

    Smoke

I bought a Delaware and Hudson life-like GP-38 the other day at a show used for 12$ , and smoke is coming out of it. It still runs great though. I'm not sure what this is. Can someone please help me. I hope it isn't burning out. It is not warm.

    Why N guage .....

N is better than the other guages, because you can pack a lot on a board for a reasonable price. In the space of making a small HO ovel or an O scale circle, you can have a rather elaberate layout. Z scale although significantly smaller than N has a bad selection and is very expensive...

Question About a non-ADM modern Grain Elevator

I know its not Madusa or the Flood Loader. It's concrete like ADM, but shorter and it has no sheds, and a 5-8 story skinny tower part compared to a wide 12-15. I know it's not scratch built, because I also saw it on a few layouts there.

Question About a non-ADM modern Grain Elevator

The other day in Timonium Md. I saw a modern grain elevator that wasn't the ADM one (which I have). A dealer sold it built up (by him) at 30$. I wonder what it is? I checked all the grain elevators at walthers in N. It was significaintly shorter than the ADM elevators. Maybe someone can...

    Painting Undec Locomotives

I think the best thing to do is to go to a show. You can get Kato SD-80's decorated (I got one in Conrail) for 60$.
