Paper Tank Turrets: Best Method to Make it Round??

Any techniques are welcome, I find it all helps, especially with limitations to curved pieces when doing paper modelling. What is the technique in the pic above? Rhino3D method? Is there a way to print out the pieces for the turret ona one page to ready it for construction?

I printed it out (Mirage IIIC) on normal printer paper, I assume the 80 you mentioned. My printer is an HP inkjet...seems like a bad start! :P

Wow...so you also do jetliners...that will be impressive. There is a chap out of England who makes 1:72 scale vacform jetliners, using pictures of airliners he and his wife saw while travelling for many years...sentimental artists makes the best modellers indeed!

Paper Tank Turrets: Best Method to Make it Round??

True enough indeed Zath. I am unsure if my paper hobby warrants the investment at this point. I know there are differences between the applications, but whatever I can do on the cheap would be a good starting point. In any case, I have gone through a simple method this weekend, making a master...

Ah yes, I have his Mirage IIIC printed in 1/100. I have never built one of his kits, do you have any tips for an easy build? Do you use card or normal printer paper? I am curious to see how it will come out on my first try. Excellent builds! Milan

Paper Tank Turrets: Best Method to Make it Round??

Hello Cris, Thank you for your detailled response. I will certainly look at your Star Trek diorama and see if I can come up with any ideas from the models there. I think the Entreprise class ships offer alot of tools as they have many rounded edges and would need a great modeller to maintain...

Buildings from around the world for wedding

I think that if you know the name of the site you wish to get a model of in each location it would be possible to search, even in the native language, to find a paper model of each location. If not for free online, to purchase from someone before the big day.

I love this Yak-141...a better alternative than the Anigrand one that comes with a bomber and two other planes. Are all of these 1/144 Ojimak??

Those are really great. Did you design them from scratch or did u get them from a pre-existing model layout? Where did you find them in that case? Thanks Rich

Paper Tank Turrets: Best Method to Make it Round??

Ah yes, I also learned to ride a bike poorly the same way! :) Zath, are you a graphic artist by trade in that case? If not, how much $ and time did you put in to get to the point where you could use Rhino as you wanted to make the models you imagined? What does Rhino do over a program like...

Dehaviland Comet 1:100 Scale Here NOW!

It does look similar to the Caravelle, but I thought the Caravelle and the Concord have some relation. They all seem to have the vertical frame design. Maybe the VC.10 does as well?

Paper Tank Turrets: Best Method to Make it Round??

For myself I have only used drawings and scissors. I have a program called Gimp, but am aware of Rhino3D. I think my biggest block is that I have never used to program Rhino3D before and would have to figure out how it works. Is there a simple tutorial somewhere to use it? Do u recommend trail...

Please give details in your response about why you chose...
