    19" radius sectional tracks

Hey Jeff, Like I said, it was real late last night when I did the test run. I should have been in bed a lot sooner as I had to work today. I've been soooooo waiting to get home tonight to check out the problem. Found out on one of the cars the wheels on the front were out of the axel hole. I...

    19" radius sectional tracks

Got to run a partial test run late last night. Had the loco and about 8 cars hooked up. I had a derailment problem on one of the corners. I was only running 40' cars so this really sounds wierd being with 19" curves I should be able to run 80' cars. I haven't had time to research the problem...

    Feeder Lines

O.K. I'm not sure what that guy was trying to sell me when I called. I just went to the local hardware store and it was .21 a foot for single wire 14 gauge. But, they had 100' rolls for $13.99. The guy wanted to charge me .21 per ft. but I told him the sign said 13.99 so that's what he charged...

    Feeder Lines

PWRR-2207, that's what I was talking about. The feeders get soldered to the rail joiners (on the bottom) never seen. Every place the the rail joiners are not soldered. I think also from his thread, I am going to go with 14/2 for the main bus line. I called around but it's like $20 bucks for 25'...

    Feeder Lines

Thanks for all the great tips so far. Wayne, the reason for the feeders every 3- 5' is because the track I'm laying right now cannot be soldered once it is layed down. So what I have done is on the 19" radius corners I have soldered them completely together, and put a feeder wire right in the...

    Feeder Lines

O.K. starting the hook up. I got 20/2 for the feeders and was thinking about 16 qauge for the main wiring. This will be 78' around the room with 2 main lines. Feeders will be every 3 -5'. Does any one have pics or suggestions for the best way to wire all this?

So, what does your wife think?

My wife say's I never finish a project. I've been building a fast Mustang for years now. I'd hate to say how much money is in the moter and tranny. Never been started. I turn it by hand now and then to make sure it isn't frooze up. Scratch built a r/c plane, 6' wing span. Bought the 5 channel...

Man do I feel stupid. I never used a glue gun before. I put another stick in behind the one that was in there so now when I pull the trigger it is feeding it's self and working great.sign1 Live and learn I guess. The problem now is it is setting up to fast for laying track on the foam bed.

    19" radius sectional tracks

George, I totally agree with what you are saying. That's why I'm not rushing into this toooooo fast. I wish I could get my camera to down load some pics I have takin'. I'm still working on that problem. What I have done is make a templete which allows me to lay the roadbed at a precise 19"...

    19" radius sectional tracks

It is not excessive I would say. But it does move some. I mean enough it could throw a complete circle off. Being I will have plenty of straight between the corners I should be fine. Thanks for the info on the center of the rails. That should line me up for the templete I want to make.

    19" radius sectional tracks

Ok, this is wierd. I am working in a confined area. I soldered my corners together (6) 19" rad. and put a 5" str. at each end. Hoping that I can set it in one piece. After soldering is done, I can actually move it, like it is flex track. Not as much, but I can move it. Is this normal? I mean in...

    Internet Vendors

I've been using MB Klein, a little disapointed this week end though. I made a order monday hoping to be here by friday and that didn't happen. So I went to spend the weekend at my wife's uncles place. Didn't get a darn thing done on my layout. And what a boring weekend. He don't even have...

    Using flex track

What is the best tool to use for cutting flex track to the length you want? P.S. Gary, did you get any pics?

    Using flex track

With flex track 1 side is solid while the other side is movible. Does it matter which side is flexing, or does it depend on which way the turn is? I guess it don't matter if it is straight.

    Atlas #6 Turnout

Anybody know what radius curve should come off a Atlas #6 Turnout to get it to run parallel with the main track? I know it has to be more than 19. Is that why they make flex track? I'm using code 80 if that makes a difference.
