I would hazard a guess that the truly modern stuff is much harder to get plans for - especially stuff that is still in use, as nobody wants to give away secrets for model designers that the 'enemy' could use. Also ultimately publishers are going to do what sells. I'd guess that the WW2 stuff...

I think something wonky happened here - although I suppose there's nothing wrong with having 2 cool ship builds in one thread ;) I had skimmed the photo's of the Ironclad before and somehow missed that you are designing / scratchbuilding this one. Great job!

There has been much debate that the copyright on MM models printed before some date in the '90's (sorry, I don't remember) actually were either without copyright or the copyright is expired. If you search there's a couple threads on this forum and out on the 'net discussing it - and I'm not sure...

I have used a standard white glue for all my builds so far (except for clear canopies and using 'superglue' (cyanoacrylate) for gluing paper to wire). I put a blob of glue on a piece of plastic and then use a toothpick to apply it for everything. Your V1 is looking good ;)

My dad was building a Spirit of St. Louis kit and told me he backed the formers with balsa. If I was doing something really big I might consider using it for formers, but until recently all of my builds were Wilhelmshaven kits so I'm used to doing formers that weren't reinforced, and have been...

Is it possible you have a firewall set up blocking certain websites - specifically imageshack? Are you on your home computer or a work computer?

Looking good. I'd have had to start putting those tracks together when I first started cutting frames out so I'd hopefully have them almost done when I got the rest of the kit done, but that's just me ;)

Rick - I haven't had that issue, and I even read the forum on 2 separate computers and it seems to keep everything even between the 2 of them. I'm sure it has to do with what it thinks you have and haven't read though, so it might be fixed by using the 'mark forums read' button - not sure.
