Are you kidding! I bet you they tricked out that beast with overhead cams and and a bigger carb. It must generate at least....50bhp.....:p If they do decide to pull the caboose I hope they upgraded the brakes from the two wheel drum brakes or whatever the original car had.

Actually - given that the loading gauge is smaller in the UK the american HO and british OO scale stuff is about hte same size (the OO is a bit bigger but not much). If you get the ready to run stuff that is 16.5mm gauge rather than the (nicer - better?) kits that frequently run on 18.83mm...

Are teh wheel sizes for standard gauge of narrow gauge? I am guessing that they used smaller wheels on narrow gauge as I have plans in the Feb 1996 MR that shows a 3foot gauge class-C climax with 29 1/2 inch wheels but my HO scale bachmann shay has 33 inch wheels and my steam locomotive...

Hi Javier, If you think about it all the scales we use are stupid but 4mm = 1 ft makes more sense than 3.5mm - 1ft! After all - 4mm=12" gives 1mm = 3" so scale rulers would be a lot cheaper! 3.5mm = 1 ft doesn't go into anything! that works out as 11.6mm = 1m or 0.2916mm = 1 inch. At...

They are actually Westside logging side frames - they look a lot like climax side frames though which must be how I remembered them. The bad news is that they HOn3 and designed for 26" wheels so are too small for standard guage purposes :( they are part numbers 585-31830 in the 1998 walthers...

sean, Presicion Scale do make some side "Climax" frames however the ones i've seen were climax log car side frames which, although similar, are not quite the same as the loco ones. I'd really like to see a pic of you climax with side frames on krokodil neil
