    DNs USS Oregon?

Ack! Here I was thinking they were similar in construction. I guess I'll have to figure it out on my own, though I haven't reached the same level of comfort as you in experimenting! :D AJ

    Digitals Yamato

Doesn't have to be a kit, eh? That opens up a whole new realm of possibilities! I'll do some more brainstorming and get back to you. AJ

Thanks, barry! I always enjoy seeing more pictures of the Hood! I also dug out the link to the card model page on the Hood Association website: http://www.hmshood.com/models/card/Cardmodels.html#JSC And although I know it's not card  , this one is certainly drool worthy...

^ Sounds great, Rob! GPM's HMS Prince of Wales looks like a great kit. Normally, I would have suggested my favorite ship that took part in WW2, HMS Hood, but the JSC kit is rather small and the Halinski kit just doesn't look right to me for some reason. OT question: Has anyone ever...

    DNs USS Oregon?

I agree with the others, Oregon's looking fantastic, Glen! I've been toying with an idea for Oslabya since I read Ron's thread on getting a good tight fit for the parts. I noticed that the black hull sides of Oslabya would seem to overlap the red lower hull if you glued it onto the tabs...

But it was well worth it - the funnel looks great, Rob! :D The airplane is shaping up nicely as well... those are those 1 foot matchsticks for lighting grills, right? ;) A.J.

    DNs USS Oregon?

Wow, you did all that freehand! Did you try to cut exactly on the line or a little to the inside? And gives you a very strong bond, I'm sure! How much time do you have before it sets? A.J.

    DNs USS Oregon?

I agree wholeheartedly! Oregon's looking splendid, Glen! The decks appear to fit the sides seamlessly. What did you use to cut out the decks so smoothly and for color to hide the edges? A.J.

    DNs USS Oregon?

I know what you mean. ;) I just adopted the technique of applying glue with a paintbrush that I was keeping clean in a cup of water... and learned the lesson that one should not keep the cup on the other side of the model so that you have to reach across it. A.J.

    DNs USS Oregon?

Nicely done, Glen! The hull looks great! :D When weighing the advantages and disadvantages of a full hull version versus a waterline version, I was wondering about the necessity of building some sort of stand/cradle for the hull at this stage. Do you think a stand is necessary to keep the...

    Battleship Bismarck

No, no, no! It can't be done! What will we do without our daily Bismarck fix? ;) :D Congratulations, Scorpio! Bismarck looks stellar from stem to stern. You should be very proud! A.J.

    Battleship Bismarck

Simply stunning, Scorpio! The rigging is amazing; I can't believe you were able to achieve such accurate results by heating and shaping leftover pieces of plastic! A.J.

    k.u.k. Marine Wien

No worries, Steve, I was second guessing myself as well! I've gotten both of them off eBay, so I have no idea as to how they originally got to the States. However, when you consider the fact that Germany and Poland share a common border, I suspect that JSC must print a number of kits in...

    Potemkin reference material

That sounds great, Darwin! Getting a good focus for the closeup is a problem I discovered with the camera I was using as well. I hope your new one does the trick! A.J.
