Micheal, many thanks for this, I appreciate your efforts and am enjoying building your excellent little model. Lookiing forward to the next ones, too! One point, could you mark the centre of any circular arcs (little dot or cross would be great) so we can locate our circle cutting tools...

A new model to win !!!!!!!!

Gil, original idea was to sneak in close to the enemy and 'hit and run' with the 12 inch, fired with the gun breaking the surface, sighted through the telescope. The barrel had a sealing plug (tamion) operated by a linkage, so no-one needed to go outside before firing it. On one test firing, the...

Why do you build card models

I reckon it is genetic. Most of my male ancestors have been 'makers' of one sort or another for the last 3 generations at least, and my mother is a painter, and did pottery and sculpture before she retired. My brothers are a musician/graphic artist and an agricultural engineer respectively, and...

    Design Challenge

For translation, try www.imtranslator.com . Works OK, but you have to think a bit. And technical stuff really throw it. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Trans to Russian. Trans back to English. Result. The vodka is strong, but the meat has gone bad. Hmm. Something got lost in...

IMtranslator plug-in for Internet Explorer is good: http://plugin.imtranslator.com/ I'm using it on some Russian navy texts, and while it is confused by some technical terms, you can get the sense of what is written. Works in a variety of languages including Polish, Russian etc. Tim
