Don't laugh too hard...It's my first attempt!

I know what you mean Steve about needing structures in place before being able to go forward. I've been messy about myself once in a while I'll send out the track cleaner and cleanup wiring shorts. I've been considering taking down one of my mountains or at least taking off the top to make a...

Portals look great Steve . I often thought about making some I can now see how it would be easier placing the portals then build the mountain out to them.

Nice to see some progress pics. I used the boxcar red on my rails as well I liked the color it gives then I went over the ties with some grimey looking black to discolor the boxcar red on the ties. Any chance of a tunnel on the upper track on the curve , You'd have good access from the end I...

I've been thinking of bringing the turntable back into the picture As you can see I also have a choice between 2 sizes of engine houses although I think the larger one will be too cramped. I'm thinking of building up the TT with boards and building outward. This Atlas turntable is 70 HO which...

Don't laugh too hard...It's my first attempt!

Steve I too had WS risers left over and used them where I remebered to at the time.sign1 As for the cardbord strips I used this technique for the mountain that climbs my walls , it worked great because all I had to do was staple the top to the wall and bottom to the incline risers put some...

Yep that'll work for a road, for me i just built up the area for a road ( I think you have the better plan) .Now this is just a thought but where the hill is going to be on the right side of the road you may want to leave some areas for wood or stone retaining walls after all we can't have the...

Here's another update I got a pretty good start on some trees. I used mostly super trees, spraying first with cheap hairspray and covering in fine green. I gave the road a one last coat of dirt, paint first then shake of fine dirt, you can see where the roads are still showing wet. I also added...

Holey bat cave robin you talk about alot of portals :thumb: Isn't the scenery end a nice break ? I like the idea of the different elevations for the buildings , perhaps you may want to give some thought to the rear of the building being in a sort of dug out area on the front of a hill while the...

And here's the new hill with a wash of burnt umber and now I have a better idea of where Popa Wheelies, Harley and Son's and the Barrel factory will go.The road will come in from the right up a grade and leave to the left down the hill.

Here's how it looks with a base of dirt the ground foam added. In the spring when the snow goes away I'll gather up some leaves and bake them and shake em for messy ground cover and add a bunch of other stuff as well.
